I was thrilled to find that one of my fabrics had 3' squares whichlooked like painted tiles. I cut that piece of fabric into little tilesand made some of each of the simple challenge units, not knowingwhere they would end up. I arranged some of the tiles and piecedunits, filled some spaces with rectangles of the print background, moved the pieces around, made some more units, cut some moreprint rectangles, repeat, repeat, repeat . . until I was pleased with thefinal design. Sewing it together was a piece of cakehorizontal rowsof units and rectangles. My border issimple, but very effective.

I was thrilled to find that one of my fabrics had 3" squares which looked like painted tiles. I cut that piece of fabric into little “tiles” and made some of each of the simple challenge units, not knowing where they would end up. I arranged some of the “tiles” and pieced units, filled some spaces with rectangles of the print background, moved the pieces around, made some more units, cut some more print rectangles, repeat, repeat, repeat . . until I was pleased with the final design. Sewing it together was a piece of cake—horizontal rows of units and rectangles. My border is simple, but very effective.
