58 years old, married, 2 adult children. Eldest is 5 years older than the younges. Eldest lives in Calgary and works on Jet engines and is also a balancing specialist and machinist in addition the the official jet engine tech skills He has his journeyman level 4 in both which has meant many years using his vacations up to take the courses and is now enjoying a break for some summer and winter holidays before getting level 5. He is still looking for the right woman. His younger brother is a dept manager at a building supply chain and is hoping soon to become a civilian employee of the military base where we live, and is unofficially engaged and buying a house with his girlfriend who I hope can become the daughter I never had but would have liked. Sure and glad I have a niece and 2 great nieces and a couple of my cousins have daughters I can do girly stuff with when we visit or go places or babysit. My husband was in the army and is now a commisianaire (Candadian security co for ex members of armed forces, police, firefighters etc). I now prefer quilting over making clothing but still do both. Also can knit and crochet, love to cook, read and garden. Have a huge cook book collection which I should really downsize to just the ones I actually use the recipes from. I tend to read them for inspiration and wing it by combining ideas from 2 or 3 books into a recipe custom tailored to family allergies if company is coming or to what I thinkg would have improved it after making it the first time.I am a retired nurse but also took a lot of home ec training as I planned on nursing til my body wore out and then perhaps training as a home ec teacher. Instead it worked out that I went on to manage group homes and provide nanny housekeeper services until I retired . Worked for many years in the Psychiatric wards and childrens wards, was a head nurse and supervisor.
Even dabbled at selling cosmetics, tupperware and candles to see if I liked a sales based career. |
