Just a note about this pattern - just finished using it for a quilt for Irish flood relief, and it is gorgeous! Have made several for the grandbabies, and am using it to teach two of same to quilt their own. It's a great pattern, both for beginners and more experienced quilters, and turns out differently each time, depending on the fabric choices one makes. Keep on publishing great patterns!!

How much fabric is required for a bed size quilt.

The fabric requirements are: 1 1/4 yards focus (add more to fussy cut) 1/2 yard each of rail colors (two on the outside that form the frames) 5/8 yard middle of rail color 1/2 yard for binding. arrange blocks 7 x 9 I have made a few, always fun and I cut kits, so the fabric amounts are burned into my memory.

Outside strips 2 " - Inside strip - 3" I started with the alternate (fussy cut) block and ended with one as well.

Crib size - 7 across and 9 down -

Would like to make this quilt to use up some flannels. I can't seem to find any measurements on cutting my strips. Any help?

Looks like they haven't uploaded it yet, but if it helps, I know that you make 31 of the rail fence blocks and arrange them solid, pieced, etc. for the first row (7 blocks all together) then switch for the alternating row. Remember to turn your rail fence blocks 1/4 turn. I think if you download this pattern, you can see what I mean about the lay-out.

We regularly put in our guild news letter the block of the month and a different block of the month specific to gathering blocks ot use at our bees to make quilts for the local Transition house. WE also are submitting aquilt in a different pattern for the Quilts for Cancer auction that are displayed at Lazy boy.
