String Quartet |

Designed by contest winner Elaine Sexton
and sewn by Linda Manzer.
Our quilting guild makes baby quilts for the United States Naval Hospital neonatal intensive care unit at Camp Lester, Okinawa, Japan. This block was suggested at the guild for a "block of the month"--it's so fast and easy, even beginning quilters are able to whip out quilts like crazy!

String piecing makes quick work of this quilt top! Great for using up random scraps, and pretty as a planned-color quilt, this pattern is great for beginners and as a pro-bono project.
This pattern first appeared in the May/June 1998 (#61) issue of Quiltmaker magazine.
