Pattern Corrections

Corrections

Quiltmaker gets a lot of letters and emails from readers. Occasionally the message begins, "I can't get these pieces to fit together. Obviously there is a mistake in your pattern. Would you please send me the correction?"

Much of the time, the problem lies in something simple like sewing together those tricky triangles (half-square and quarter-square). When they're placed together for stitching, the tips hang over the edges. Quiltmaker has always included a pattern in our Basic Lessons (found in the center of each issue) to make a trimming template. We direct you to trace this shape onto cardboard or plastic and use it to trim the tips off triangle shapes that you have rotary cut. Once trimmed, the triangles align perfectly with each other and with other shapes, allowing you to sew them together properly.

If there's a mistake, we want to know about it. If we discover an error, we'll publish it here on this web page. If you think you've found a mistake, please check here first. Nothing published? Write to us at editor@quiltmaker.com or call us at 303-215-5600, ask for Quiltmaker and we'll figure it out together.

We make every effort to create the best possible product, but occasionally, something slips by our best efforts. Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience caused by an error.

The cutting dimensions for the M patches in Cornflower Fields, page 53 in the March/April '10 issue (No. 132) are incorrect. Duette (January/February '10)

The last parargraph of the pattern is missing. It should read: "Layer and baste together the backing, batting and quilt top. Quilt the marked motifs. Bind the quilt." We regret the error.
