There are two facts that every quilter should know about quilting with hexagons. Did you know that hexagons are measured by the length of one of the finished sides? You might also find it valuable to know that on a hexagon, the distance from point to point is equal to twice the length of one of the finished sides. While this might sound like a bit too much math for some crafters, these quilting tips can go a long way to helping you design your own quilt patterns. Knowing how to measure and calculate the distance of your hexagons makes it much simpler to fit these shapes together with other quilt shapes.
