Happy new year, friends!

The beginning of the year is a time to set resolutions, and quilting goals are no exception. Perhaps there’s a certain type of quilt you want to make, a new technique you want to master or a class you want to take. Maybe you just want to clean out your sewing room and get it organized, or at least finish up some of those UFOs sitting in the corner.

One thing you can definitely look forward to in 2016 is our new 100 Blocks Sampler Block of the Month, featuring quilt blocks from our popular 100 Blocks issues. To create this 12-month BOM that starts in March, we reduced blocks from our 100 Blocks magazines to 6″, placed them in a creative sampler setting and added a pretty piano key border.

Kits are available to purchase in our online shop in three colorways: red and white, traditional and reproduction. Four new quilt blocks will be presented in each month’s kit with a bonus block in month 12, along with fabric for the sashing and binding.

The complete quilt pattern alone will also be available to purchase soon, plus we’ll be hosting a sew-along right here on Quilty Pleasures! We plan to blog step-by-step block instructions each Wednesday starting in March, and we’ve invited the designers whose blocks we’re featuring to post on their own blogs as well. We’re also planning to include some additional projects in some of our blogs using leftover fabric from the kits.

We hope you’ll join us for all the fun! Pre-order your 100 Blocks Sampler Block of the Month kits in our online store, and stay tuned to our blog for more information.

Happy Quilting,

  1. I in addition to my buddies have been looking at the great helpful tips from your web site and the sudden I got a horrible suspicion I never expressed respect to the web blog owner for those secrets. The young boys were as a result excited to learn all of them and now have truly been taking advantage of these things. Many thanks for simply being simply considerate and also for opting for this form of great subjects most people are really eager to know about. Our own honest regret for not expressing appreciation to you sooner.

I would like to start the 100 block sew along. Can you tell me where the free patterns are for the blocks. I did see the pattern for sale but I thought this was a free quilt along where we could get each block in a PDF.
    Thank you

It looks like most of them are Pieced. Stunning in the Two color version. Not just another Sampler.

  5. Loretta says:

I look forward to quilting along with you. For some reason larger blocks don’t appeal to me and I enjoy taking a larger block pattern and making a smaller version.

  6. Sophia says:

Just got my first package! Love those reds!!! Can hardly wait for March to arrive.

  7. Phyllis Arechuk says:

Can hardly wait for March. I did the Bitty Blocks and enjoyed them. Thank you.

  8. What a great idea!
    I’ll be sewing along!

  9. Liz says:

This looks great! I’m still working on the Bitty Blocks–but I’m tempted to do this as well. And it would fit in with my ‘sew take 20′ resolution for 2016!

  10. Jill says:

What are the sizes of the quilts?

    • nnettles says:

Hi Jill: There are two sizes – square, 58″ x 58″ and rectangle, 52″ x 64″. The square one is 7 blocks x 7 blocks and uses 49 blocks (we give a bonus block with month 12). The rectangle uses 48 blocks and is 6 blocks x 8 blocks. Both layouts are included with month 12.

  11. Jean Tanner says:

Is it possible these patterns could be presented in a PDF form to make copying them easier?

  12. Amber says:

Yippee! I.m excited. This looks like fun.
