Quiltmaker’s Parade of Homes continues!
It’s part blog tour, part freebie fest and part designer showcase. We’ve been giving away blocks made by quilt designers from Lori Holt’s Home Sweet Home pattern, which appears in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 8.
Today’s giveaway block was made by Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts. I like the yellow light in the windows, inviting friends and family inside. Julie is busy planning a wedding—so maybe this is the house where she’ll make a new home!
You may be familiar with Julie’s versatile Hex N More ruler, or with the unique patterns she’s designed for its use.
It’s pretty amazing what this ruler can do. Julie sent me a sample and I love the many ways to use it.
The Hex N More ruler just celebrated its second birthday. A lot has happened in two years! Julie has added:
The Hex N More is used to cut four shapes in four sizes each.
Since the shapes all work together, the variety of quilt designs is seemingly endless. Julie has tutorials on the rulers plus other techniques you’ll want to see.
Be sure to visit the Parade of Homes page, where you’ll find free quilting motifs and a free block pattern.
Giveaway: For your chance to win Julie’s block (what a fun way to jumpstart a project), leave a comment below before midnight on Friday, August 29. We’ll choose a random winner and announce it here next week. The winner is #2, Kathy Wilkey.
