We’re celebrating our Sept/Oct issue with its three beautiful house quilts!
Isn’t this a wonderful little block? We decided to ask 12 quilt designers to make unique versions of Home Sweet Home. We were thrilled with the results! We’ll show you all the blocks—and give them all to lucky winners—during our Designer Showcase. Today is the start.
This is the block that Bonnie Hunter of Quiltville made for us. She couldn’t resist string piecing the roof and making the block uniquely her own—which is exactly what we’d hoped for!
Bonnie has a regular column in Quiltmaker called Addicted to Scraps. It’s always fun to see what block Bonnie comes up with next. See all the blocks on our Addicted to Scraps page along with some ideas for putting them together.
You might have noticed that a Bonnie scrap quilt graced the cover of the recent July/August issue. Get this issue in print or digital.
The quilt is called Wanderlust—isn’t that a great name? Get just the pattern if you wish.
We’re having a nice giveaway to start things off. Bonnie is providing a copy of her latest book, More Adventures with Leaders & Enders, as well as some scrappy fabric from her sewing room stash. We’ll throw in a copy of Quiltmaker Sept/Oct ’14 and a 100 Blocks coffee mug—always a hot item! The winner of these items is Ronna, comment #33. In separate giveaways, we have another copy of this issue and a copy of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 8 which includes Lori’s Home Sweet Home block pattern. The winner of these items is Sandy Vanya, #356. For your chance to win, please leave a comment below before midnight on Tuesday, August 5. We’ll choose winners randomly and announce them here. The giveaways have ended.
