Lovers of redwork will be happy to know we offer our 2014 series quilt, Love Blooms Here, in scarlet stitches. The quilt was designed by QM Associate Editor Paula Stoddard. Part 1 appears in the Jan/Feb ’14 issue.

The quilt is beautiful in person but photos don’t seem to do it justice, so I wanted to show it off up close.

Carolyn’s stitching is beautiful!

Creative Editor Carolyn Beam made this quilt. Her embroidery is really beautiful!

We have convenient kits for this quilt to make everything easy-as-pie! The fabrics are Josephine by French General for Moda Fabrics.

About Diane Harris

I'm an editor for Quiltmaker magazine in Golden, Colorado, USA. For six years, I wrote pattern instructions, product reviews and how-to articles. Then I spent four years as QM's Interactive Editor, working to generate much of our online content. Now I'm back to patterns and how-tos, which is a great fit for me. I still love writing about quilt-related topics for Quilty Pleasures, and I always have my finger on the pulse of the quilting world. I teach a variety of quilt classes and give guild programs, too. I just subscribed to this magazine to get this pattern. I hope this is the magazine they start with…… it!!!!

  2. Donna Caudill says:

I love to do Redwork. I will attempt to do this one. I get a lot of transfer patterns and do a lot of it in Redwork.

  3. Chris, Medford/WI says:

I love hand stitchery in my spare time from quilting & it is so nice that
“QUILTMAKER” is also offering a redwork section. I’m doing mine in 30′s, repo fabrics. I always back my fabrics when stitching so the stabilizer makes the fabrics smoother. THANK YOU so much for these patterns :-)

  4. Helen Hollinger says:

I received part one, it was so much fun to do in red work. Can’t wait for part 2 to come in the mail. I love the material line by Moda.
