Today’s the day!
Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Fall ’13 edition officially appears today at quilt shops and newsstands. We are going to give away 25 copies of the issue to celebrate.
This is the one where…
QM Rocks the Blocks!
Get it locally if you can. If that’s not possible, you’ll find it at our shop site, quiltandsewshop.com. Or maybe you’ll win it, so please keep reading.
19 Exclusive Quilts…
…all designed using blocks published in the first eight volumes of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks.
For example, this is Spinneret from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 7 by Pat Harrison.
It became Raspberry Spin—a different twist on a unique design.
QM Associate Editor Paula Stoddard took her So Tweet block from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6…
…and designed a precious growth chart we dubbed Grow So Tweet, below.
Maybe you’re in the market to make something for fall. We love the way Connie Walker took her Hoot Owls block from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 8 (yet to be released, coming later this fall)…
…and built this quilt around it. It’s called 801 Maple.
Maybe you’re looking for something “modern” and if so, we have just the design. QM’s editorial assistant Shayla Wolf took Horizon by Vanessa Vargas Wilson and Illusion by Julie Herman, both from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 3…
…and combined them to make Urban Angles, below.
Do you enjoy applique? So does Marcia Harmening, who took Norwegian Rosemaling from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 7…
…and enlarged it to make a 36″ wall hanging called All Abloom, below.
One of my favorites is by Sandy Fitzpatrick. She used her block Acorns Away! from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 6…
…to make Falling Acorns, below.
Nancy Mahoney combined two of her own block designs for the next quilt. Round and Round from Volume 5 and Emerald Isle from Volume 7 work well together.
They join forces to create Points All Around, below.
You’ll also find the pattern for Rainbow Brick Road.
And one for Midnight Blues. Important! Marilyn Foreman, who designed and made the quilt below, is having a giveaway of a Midnight Blues kit, a $150 value! Please visit Marilyn’s website, Quilt Moments, for giveaway details.
And Happy Blooms, below.
That’s 10 of the designs, and there are nine more!
In addition to the 19 main quilts, there are five bonus table runner patterns. There are optional color ideas and there’s even a bonus crib quilt. Wrapping it all up is a beautiful 100 Blocks Sampler quilt by Cathy Alexander of Southampton, Ontario.
Let’s celebrate with a big giveaway!
Please leave one comment below before midnight Friday, September 6 telling us how you heard about the giveaway. We’ll randomly choose 25 winners to receive this issue. The winners will be notified by email next week. Good luck!
Winners have been chosen and notified! Thank you for participating!
