No set-in seams in these stars!

And the easy piecing goes a long way toward fooling the eye into seeing set-in seams, but there are none. All in all, just a smashing quilt! All of the fabrics are from Red Rooster Fabrics.

Scattered Leaves was designed and made by Brenda Plaster of Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. Fabrics: Quilting Treasures.

QMMP 131000 bounty 400 Quilty Highlights from Sept/Oct 13

Nature’s Bounty was designed and made by Beth Ferrier of Saginaw, Michigan.

Continuing with our Year of Applique theme, we snagged a project from Beth Ferrier called Nature’s Bounty. Beth wrote great step-by-step instructions for her invisible machine applique techniques, so if you’ve wanted to give applique a try, this is a good place to begin. The background color is fresh and unexpected, and we love it.

Space Place is made with Out of This World fabrics from P&B Textiles.

The Big Block Baby quilt for this issue is a block taken from Scattered Leaves. It’s called Space Place because of the Out of This World fabrics from P&B Textiles. I can see one of these in my future because it’s quick and easy but still very attractive—a perfect baby gift.

There’s plenty more but we’ll save some things for future blog posts. Do you need this issue? Two options:

• Purchase Sept/Oct Quiltmaker in print

• Purchase Sept/Oct Quiltmaker in digital format

I ordered background fabric to make the crayon quilt. I’ve been collecting solids for years. Hope to make a little boy happy.
