Happy Monday! Let’s have a giveaway. I have some great books here from four different publishers. Leave a comment below before midnight Friday, August 23 and I’ll choose three winners to receive two books each. (Open to everyone but winners outside the U.S. will receive an alternate prize, see below.)

    “A Day at Sunnybrook” really grabbed my attention! I would have so much fun making the projects that they would have made in the 1800′s! And I am trying to learn more about embellishing, and “Beading Artistry” is one I need in my library as well!

    Wow! These books look great. I’d be unfettered in learning to make beautiful, yet interesting quilts using only solids. The Rockies, and beading and hand applique really get me exited to read them too…as if I don’t already have too many projects started..ha ha ha, NEVER! :)

    Beading Artistry for Quilts and We Love Color are two books that really caught my eye. I use a lot of solid color when designing my quilt tops. Adding beading would let me bring my jewelry design training to bear as well.

    I believe that you can never have enough quilt books. I don’t have any of the books listed and would certainly love to have them. I love needle turn applique and like to make the primitive style quilts. I also love color in my quilts.I have never done the beadwork on my quilts but have seen some beautiful quilts with beads added. I look forward to receiving my QuiltMaker magazines. Love it!

    I see that a couple of the books are featuring solid fabrics. When I started quilting in earnest about 10 years ago, I was told and read many places that one should NEVER use solids in a quilt. The prevailing wisdom at the time was that tone on tone prints give a quilt ‘movement’ that solids couldn’t. So it amuses me that now solids are in vogue in the quilt world. It just tells me that “never” is a word that should “never” be used, LOL!
