We had such a good time last week in Portland during Quiltmaker‘s Block Party. We partnered with a number of industry leaders who provided support and giveaways for those attending. We’re really grateful to all of them. Below are the quilty goods donated for welcome bags, decorations and prizes.
Andover Fabrics sent (what else!) fabric that we used to create centerpieces. After dinner, the fabric was given to winners at each table. One of our keynote speakers was Jo Morton, who designs fabric for Andover using her collection of antique and vintage prints.
FreeSpirit contributed beautiful fat quarters for the welcome bags.
Gammill sent pens (they write in lime green ink!) and longarm pins—so now everyone who was at Block Party “owns” a longarm!
Handi Quilter sent scissors and “zingers” which are little holders with a retractable cable to keep the scissors handy.
Hoffman California Fabrics sent fat quarter bundles featuring Bali Handpaints.
Everyone attending got a book donated by Martingale with a Quiltmaker connection: 200 Blocks from Quiltmaker Magazine is a great resource for any quilter. Carmen looks pretty happy with her book, doesn’t she?!
Moda Fabrics sent charm packs for everyone. This is Field Notes by Blackbird Designs.
Northcott sent fat quarters and measuring tapes for each welcome bag.
Tokyo swatch packs for everyone were donated by Red Rooster Fabrics.
And since fabric designer Gudrun Erla was teaching for QM, Red Rooster Fabrics also sent loads of her newest fabric line “Nordic Visions.” The fabric greatly enhanced the tabletops at dinner and was then given to winners to take home.
Reliable provided irons for each classroom. At the end of the event, the brand-new Sensor Velocity irons were given to winners who took them home.
Robert Kaufman Fabrics donated charm square packs for everyone in attendance.
Rowan/Westminster Fibers sent Kaffe Fassett’s Classics fat quarter bundles.
And Ty Pennington “impressions” fabric bundles, too.
Timeless Treasures topped it all off with a pattern for everyone called Tonga Sugar.
The Block Party sponsors were incredibly generous and it made the event more fun for all who were there. Once again, a big thank you to the industry leaders who partnered with Quiltmaker. We hope all our readers will patronize them regularly.
Giveaway! We had a few extra welcome bags and we’d like to give them to Quilty Pleasures readers who were not at either Block Party (Williamsburg or Portland).
Leave a comment below by midnight Sunday, March 31 and we’ll choose random winners on Monday, April 1 and post them here. Good luck!
Our winners are: Cecilia (#699) and Rose (#594)! Thank you to everyone who commented!
