Today’s a big day for Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. We’ve reprinted Volume 1, which sold out before many readers had a chance to get it.
Now the blocks that started it all are back!
In order to celebrate, we’re giving away some copies and—can you believe it?!—a batch of the much-sought-after 100 Blocks Volume 1 coffee mugs!

1. At the bottom of this post is a list of Volume 1 designers with links to their blogs or websites. Please take the time to visit several and then leave a comment telling us about something you saw or enjoyed there. Comments left by midnight Monday, Dec. Jan. 14 will be eligible to win a copy of the reprint of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 1. We’ll give away 10 issues for every 500 comments we get. So please tell your friends, and say it on Facebook and your own blog, too. We’d love to be completely cleaned out of giveaway issues! Here’s a link to this post you can share: http://www.quiltmaker.com/blogs/quiltypleasures/?p=15255
2. But you’re also wondering how you can win a Vol. 1 mug, aren’t you?! Because the mugs are very special, this is a little more involved but still very doable.
For your chance to win a mug, you’ll need to send us a photo of something you’ve made from ANY volume of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks. It can be as simple as a block or as much as a large quilt!
In fact, if you haven’t yet made anything, you have time to whip up a block. There are so many options of what to make. There are one hundred! Times six volumes!
Send the photo to sewtospeak@quiltmaker.com, with a subject line of “I’d like a mug!” Everyone who follows these instructions will have a chance to win one of 10 mugs we’re giving away. And you never know. We might be inclined to include issues in those packages, too. Update: Be sure to tell us which block(s) you used!
Seeing these blocks again is like reuniting with old friends. If you didn’t get a copy the first time around, be sure to pick one up this time.
We encourage you to buy it locally from a quilt shop or newsstand. It’s also available from us at quiltandsewshop.com. Or ask your quilt shop to order it for you.
Volume 1 Block Designers
Stop by these designers’ blogs or homepages and tell them we sent you! You’ll find all kinds of interesting quilty tidbits. Remember to leave one comment on what you find. Ten issues given away for every 500 comments we get!

I love the spring blossom block. I need a few more star blocks to add to a WIP so I’m going to try that block.
I stopped over at Beth Ferrier’s blog and adore the puppy she has – so cute! Terrific that you are reprinting Volume 1 – thanks for the chance!!
I saw very nice new patterns over at Camille Roskelley’s Simplify blog. Volume 1 looks interesting. Thanks for the chance.
Pam Buda is doing an orphan block and scraps sew along on her blog Heartspun Quilts. This will be a great way to use up my “tons” of scraps. Thanks for the chance to win.
I visited Ann Weber’s Gingham Girls blog and thoroughly enjoyed the snowflake. Like she said snowflakes can be used all winter long, well beyond the day we take down the tree. I think I will try a snowflake item in a non-Christmas color, so it doesn’t look like I just forgot to pack something away.
I love the zipper quilt by Camille Roskelley. I looking to add length to a BOM I am doing and I think a row of this top and bottom row of these blocks might just be the way to go.
I love the simplicity of Ahoy by Carolyn Goins–from Volume 1
I love the leafy hot pads. It’s time to start making a bunch of small gifts to have on hand.
I had to track down Laura Nownes at http://www.lauranownes.com where I discovered “Butterfly Effect” a fun quilt pattern. I’m taking Laura’s Craftsy class (2013 BOM) and was delighted the range of patterns that she has.
Pam Buda’s primer on Make-do quilts is giving me the confidence to go ahead and finish a quilt even though I may have to substitute a similar fabric for the last few squares because I miscalculated the fabric requirements or just screwed up a block or two–which I am likely to do.
Hi
I understand that you send the instructions of a pattern by mail. Why does it cost more to send them to me if I live in Israel?

>>We do have a digital subscription available that eliminates the high cost of International shipping: https://secure.palmcoastd.com/pcd/eSv?iMagId=0594J&i4Ky=SJ01. If you have more questions please email editor@quiltmaker.com.
I enjoy all of your creative ideas. Please continue on!
Spring blossom block is one of my favorites. Thank you for keeping quilters in the know.
Stopped by a few of the designers (which I actually do on a regular basis) and I am participating in Pam Buda’s Pocket Patchwork sew-a-long! Too much fun stuff to look at I need to break away and start stitching. Thanks for the opportunity!

Sue Garman’s blog was great fun – incredible variety. So much inspiration. And the Happy Daze quilt gave me some ideas I can use today.
I could spend all day going to designers’ blogs, and I’m going to come back later when I have more time. I’m excited to see Kim Brackett is coming out with another book, saw all kind of great quilting eye candy from a museum at the University of Michigan Museum that was shared by Edyta Sitar, would love to go on a cruise with Nancy Mahoney, was intrigued by Scott Hansen’s 2012 reflections and . . . I could go on and on. Thanks for providing the links!
I visited Jacquelynne Steves blog and enjoyed reading about her wool block of the month.
I love the inspiration from the 100 Blocks. I ckecked out Beth Ferrier and love her Sweet Nothing pattern. Karen Combs did an awesome presentation of her Smoky Mountain Block and several different layouts for her single block. Thanks for bringing volume 1 back.
I am so glad extra copies of Vol 1 are available. Can we also purchase the Vol 1 mug?
>>The mugs are not available for sale. They’re limited editions as thank you’s for contributors in each issue . . . we have some each time for giveaways. QM
The mug is so exciting to go with the magazine. I would love to have both and would make awesome sampler quilts with the blocks. I’ve used the Quiltmaker patterns since they started the magazine. It is really the best.
Carol Doak had some wonderful ideas for making Valentine paper pieced cards. Really liked her patterns.
I also really enjoyed Jacquelynne Steves blog. Lots of inspiration!
I’m a newcomer to quilting, so I never had a chance at the first edition! Great giveaway <3
I was linked here from PKM, who had a link to Monica (Happy Zombie)'s original post of her quilt block made for 100 Blocks – adorable! The fabrics she uses are always so sweet, and I love how the finished result looks both simple and complex. Their two blocks really look so good together, too! (http://thehappyzombie.com/blog/?p=380)
carol doak has had good paper piecing ideas.
I am going to make a table runner from the photo on this blog. Flip Side by Sara Tuttle Khammash. Will be back with a photo!
Cop-out: I can’t choose. I love them all!

The “Left-over scraps- what to do” entry in Deanne Eisenman’s blog was just what I was looking for. I have a ton of those left over triangles and was wondering what to do with them. Now I know.
I could spend all day soaking up inspiration from the websites/blogs. I really enjoyed Edyta Sitar’s little tour of the quilts @ U of M. I also like the angel block on Larkspur Lane’s site.
I went to Jane Quinn’s webpage, http://quiltinginthecountry.com/qicshow.html, and I loved the quilting in the country info!
I also went to Joyce Robinson, and I loved her quilt art gallery.
I loved Traci’s 36 quilts in one year, as a celebration for her 36 birthday. I have 6 children and 15 grand-children so I need to get busy and have a year like that. Congrats Traci.
So many lovely patterns and so little time
. Lovely book
I pinned a cute wool JOY banner for Christmas from one, and I love everything on PamKitty’s site!
First, I’m happy that 100 Blocks has been reprinted. I did not get a copy when it was first issued.
Bonnie Olaveson: I want the “Apple Tart Table Topper” and “Sew Easy Bags” patterns. I love the colors in the table topper.

Pat Sloan: I still need to buy an “Eat Your Fruits and Veggies” jellyroll. It is on sale right now. I like the food theme and the many coordinating colors in this line. I also want to point out Pat’s blog post of Jan. 2nd (2013), wherein she urges us to “Create!” and gives so many ways that she makes her assistance, ideas, patterns, etc. available online for us to create with fabric and thread.
Thank you, Pat! I, too, want to spend as much time as possible creating things of beauty this year.
A wonderful book. So many patterns to make and love.

Wow! I’m going to make some time to sit down and go through this entire list. I love so many of these quilters. Terry Clothier Thompson’s site engaged me with her traditional patterns, I decided this month I’m returning to the classic, historical patterns that drew me to quilting 35 years ago. The modern stuff is fine, but I’m absolutely drawn to the historical blocks, and when the actual history is thrown in, I can’t resist!

Thanks for the online quilt vacation.
Cindy
Thank you so much for a chance at the give-away! I frequently visit a lot of the sites you’ve listed & it’s hard to pick something specific. There’s a great lot of talent out there & so much to see & learn. I am particularly drawn to applique (yay Kay MacKenzie! among others) & anything primitive style (yay Kathy Schmitz, among others) but in a nut shell? I like what I like!
I just LOVE all the variety in the blocks–the use of color and patterns, and well as hues and tones. Love them all!
Love looking at all the patterns! And I really want to make the fabric buckets on Scott Hansen’s site

Hi, I absolutely LOVE the 100 block series. In fact I bought the volume 1 as well as all the other volumes which have come out since. But someone else Loved my volume 1 as well. I love applique, so of course I headed over to Kay Mckenzie and Pearl Pietra’s site. I love all of their work. I’ve seen Kay’s block in this mag, but not Pearl’s.
Awesome designers! I fell in love with Nancy Mahoney’s “Wild Waves” quilt. I wish I could go on her cruise. Lynette Anderson has the cutest “Dog’s Life” quilt.
I am Dutch, no copies in the stores in the Netherlands. I like the blocks!
Thanks for the chance!
I went to Ann Weber’s site and love her Gingham Girls pattern Spoolin Around – I love the combination of the nine patch on the spools. How clever! I wish my brain could think of those clever ideas, but that’s why I’m not a designer!
I just had fun visiting with Beth Ferrier at her blog. It was fun to enjoy the delight in her writing when she shared that she had a block included in the newest 100 Block magazine, too! She is very, very excited to be included on the cover. It seems to equal the thrill I feel when I conquer a quilt. We all rejoice at our conquests with each other. I loved her New Year non-resolutions resolutions. I think that we as quilters all need to be kinder to ourselves. Not all of us are perfectionists, yet many of us have that inclination. In this busy world many of us need to give ourselves time to play. Even our play tends to become work. We tell ourselves that our play is play; yet we tend to somehow turn that play into work. We can easily tell ourselves that play which is a quilt for charity when it’s done becomes a quilt under a deadline or we soon set a goal of a number of quilts for charity or we feel that our play would not be worth of use by someone else and before we know it that play is really no longer play. We let it become work. I probably spent at least 30 minutes reading her free pattern from her Sneaky Piecing Tricks book. Now, I have another book on my wish list. Her ideas in the pattern are phenonemal! I could spend hours and hours on her site! Of course, the fact that her first Christmas tree had a garland made from computer punch cards didn’t touch me doesn’t hurt either. I carried two trays of computer punch cards with the company’s payroll program that I wrote and maintained when I was pregnant with my first son. So, I think we just might be close the same age.
I would love digging through the pages of this book. Fairly new to quilting and loving it.
I have seen several blogs but I like the blog from Jacqueline Steves most. There was a ufo on het blog, a quilt made of wool. That looked lovely. I also loved her story about herself and how she started.
This would give me the opportunity to expand my skills . So many beautiful options.
I visited several sites. So many wonderful ideas and inspiration. I wish I had time to make everything! Pam Buda has a sew along that looks interesting.
I think this book would give us a great selection for the ladies in the church quilt group — we make quilts for many different projects and age groups
Woo! Hoo! 100 Blocks, Book 1 reprinted.
Susan Cook has some beautiful angel squares and Wendy Sheppard has loads of tutorials and patterns. Off to see what goodies the other ladies have.
the HAPPY ZOMBIE site was delightful with the snowflake fabric! Im looking to find it now. And the picture with the now and deer….beautiful!
the book wud be great….I lost almost my whole library of books of over a decade with Hurricane Irene flooding my basement.
Oh what fun to visit those sites and see the delightful blocks included in that 1st issue. Don’t think I could pick just one!!! Thanks for the chance to win a copy. ♥
I purchased my first Quiltmaker 100 blocks Spring 2012- about month ago and loved the magazine- found couple quilts I fell in love with-I went to Chris Hoover website and liked quilt patterns for Smokey River and the one called backyard which you can use your scraps. But my favorite was from your catalog called French Twist- Then I visited Monique Dillard open gate forum-I like the way she provides additional information to help you on different blocks -Her quilt in your QM 2012 100 blocks called Mezzamine was by far the best. I loved this quilt so much I spent several days trying to find the fabric she used for making this quilt, even going so far as to check quiltropolis mall search. I finally found all the fabric and cant wait until it all arrives. Now I am hooked on quiltmakers magazine and have been looking for it at my local stores-if nothing else I will order it online, like I did my first one
I don’t know how I missed this book but I would love to win it. I’ve seen so many of the blocks that I want to make. Thanks.
I love these books and I have used number one so much I need a new one and I would love a mug.
I love 100 Blocks so issue 1 is very welcome to come and live with me and my other copies…
I visited Beth Ferrier…I simply love her designs! Will stop by later to visit more designers as it may require a loooong stretch of browsing time. LOL
I have been looking for a copy of 100 Blocks in my local bookstore. So many wonderful blocks and blogs to visit. I enjoyed Wendy Sheppard’s tip on binding she posted. Thanks for opportunity!
I love these books and would love a mug
Love Quiltmaker magazines, special issues and books. I save all my magazines and would like to add this book to my collection
Love the Buttons in Bloom pattern on Ann Webers website.
Carol Doak is cruising in May, 2014 and I wish I could go too. Love cruising, quilting and the Caribbean.
I can’t get enough of different blocks to make. These blocks are wonderful. Love the mug too!
I enjoy very much the designs of Terry Clothier Thompson.
I like the historical connections and stories that accompany her quilts.
I loved the patterns. Would enjoy working on these. I like the older designs. Over all very beautiful.
I stopped by Ann Weber’s Gingham Girls blog and I love the Touch of Summer table topper. Thanks for the chance to win!
thanks for another chance to win volume 1, I do not have that issue in my collection. I follow several designers blogs, Pam Buda, Sue Garmen, Kansas Troubles, Clothesline Quilts, just a few of the favorites. Love reading everyones blogs.
Carol in NE
I just love the variety in these collections; fun just to look at! Thks for chance to win it.
I read many of these blogs so I decided to check out the ones I was not so familiar with. Lots of great discoveries! On Deborah C. Vollbracht’s blog I even found a free leaf hot pad pattern that is really cute!
Thanks for all the inspiration!
I enjoyed looking at Vicki Bellino’s blog! Sweet applique patterns. Thanks for letting me enter for a chance to win Volume I!
I am such a quilting nut I could spend days looking at all the designs but one I am planning to use in a quilt soon is the Spring Blossom. My granddaughter saw this block and she fell in love with the colors and design. Sooo looks like Grandma will be busily rummaging through her stash to make a new quilt soon. I have several of the 100 Block magazines but not #1. I have tried unsuccessfully to find one so if you could pick me – then I would have the pattern to make my granddaughter her quilt. Otherwise I am going to have to figure it out and my figuring is not as good as it used to be
Enjoyed seeing some of the first patterns that started the book rolling off the shelves! Congrats!

Glad i checked out EDYTA SITAR’s site… Inspiration for a memory quilt!
Love Vol. 1 so much I renewed it twice from my community library!
Love the mitten pattern! Glad to see the first 100 Blocks is reprinted. I joined the 100 Blocks bandwagon late and missed that edition. Hoping to get the printed version for my collection! Yipee!
Love the Whimsical Threads patterns and Ollie the Owl. Carol Doak’s “Downtown” is stunning.
The most favorite thing I found was on Wendy Sheppard’s “Ivory Spring” page, her “Country Breeze” quilt is just beautiful! Love it and love the colors.
Love Carol Doaks paper piecing!! Totally enjoy checking out all the designers blogs!!
While I visited more then one site, I really was impressed with Jan Quinn. I loved her charm quilts, great way to use my scraps! Or I just might buy one of her kits.:) Great site.Hope I win a book!
Quiltmaker is my favourite quilting magazine. There is such a wide range of patterns & I especially love the childrens’ & seasonal themed ones. I’m missing volume 1 in my collection.
I visted Carol Doaks website. She has a new block of the month that I would dearly love to do, called “Downtown”!! I loved so many it is hard to pick just one. I will have to visit more tomorrow, I spent way too long on the computer today. Thank you for Vol. 1 again. Yeah, I am going to have to pick one up.
Thank you for introducing me to the many great sites. I spend way too much time looking:)
I am so glad you are reprinting this still on my wish list
Love the snowman and all Christmas blocks as Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love love love snowmen. Keep up the good work!
Hi
I have been trying my hand at paper piecing and checked out Carol Doak’s site
I WON that block of the snowman at the top of the post!
I decided to check out Edyta’s website. I liked it. Her patterns are rather graceful and I loved the colors.
I especially enjoyed the fabric collections by Nancy – - Florenzia and Adeline. The prints are just beautiful.
I SO want to thank you for this opportunity!
I had missed out on getting Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks – Volume 1, and am so happy to see it’s being reprinted!
I also want to thank you for helping me get reunited with “old friends”, and meeting some new ones!…. I have not been able to quilt much for over a year now (after a bad fall and “life happening”)… and it was delightful to visit the designers’ websites, to see what they’ve been up to!
(I am especially excited to learn from Pat Sloan about the Bloggers’ Block of the Month that Jackie Kunkel got going last year! What fun!.. I’ve missed a lot!)
I’m excited about Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks – Volume 1 being reprinted!!
*Thank you!!*
Now, I’m off to pull some stash, and play!
Pat T.
I’m just getting started! Thank you for all the links! And the chance to win 100 Blocks Vol 1! I will definitely pick a block and make something for the chance at the mug! Pinged back from my blog too!
Angie Hodapp has a free pattern called “Scarecrow’s Puzzle” on Quilter’s Newsletter website. Very nice!
Ann Weber’s Show & Tell page makes me want to make the “Reston” Quilt!
Beth Ferrier’s Blog Entry today made me laugh. She’s “Treating” herself to a new INTENSE project! Inspiring!
Bobbi Findley has a blog too and a great book I want! “Tile Quilt Revival”
Bonnie Olaveson has fantastic links to tutorial video’s! What a fabulous resource!
Bonnie Sullivan has an amazing fabric line called “Cotton Blossoms!”
Carol Doak has an amazingly active yahoo group with challenges!
I visited Pam Vieira-McGinnis’ Blog and downloaded the sweet “recipe” for the “Strawberry Delight” Pin Cushions.
I want to go to Bozeman Montana in August and I really love Edyta’s work!! Visited both of these websites and just get so inspired and eager to create!
I visited Emily Herrick’s blog and found a great woman to follow. I like how she is finding joy even with lots of trials in her life. Thanks for the reminder.
Looking forward to Eleanor Burns new book. Thanks for the give away.
I love Camille Roskelley’s new pattern, Fireworks. I predict it will be the next internet quilt community sensation, rivaling the popularity of Swoon!
Thanks for the opportunity to get/purchase the First One. And, I’m looking forward to visiting the designer sites.
How exciting! I’ve been following Celine Perkins for ages and love her four corners block. Also I adore Monica Solorio-Snow, the happy zombie is one of the most entertaining quilt blogs there is! Happy new year and thanks so much for the chance to win!!
Eleanor Burns was one of the first people to get me quilting I think her new QUILTS FROM EL’S KITCHEN looks very interesting, I also looked at Carol Doak’s new Downtown BMO ,wish I had more time and money I love to receive the 1st 100 Blooks book.
Love Beth Hayes! I was reading about Tracee’s 36 quilts in 12 months. What a goal! And congratulations to Erin Russek for being Aurafil’s designer of the month! Would have loved to read what Diana McClun’s been up to, though she’s not posted in a while. Loving Jackie Robinson’s table runner, and her story about her cat getting warm! And how funny to see Pam Vieira-McGinnis is following the Bee in my Bonnet row along! lol
I visited Wendy Sheppard’s blog and love the way she quilted her Mediterranean Mosaic quilt. I would love to win a copy of Volume I!
I also went to Wendy Sheppard’s website, liked her tutorial on zig zagging her binding as binding can sometimes be challenging, The Mug is adorable and would love to win the book! Thank You!
A lot of times, I just like looking at patterns, then decide what I want to make. And sometimes I just like looking at the patterns….What a way to end the day, after a hard day at work, to sit and look at patterns. I checked out some of the designer web sites, and would like to take time out to see all of them. Very interesting….I just wish there was more time in a day to be able to make more quilts….
Thanks for the chance to win a copy of the first 100 Blocks magazine. I stopped by M. Dillard’s site and blog – I like her rulers and there is this awesome free BOM at http://opengatequilts.com/bloggergirlsbom.html
I love Ann Weber’s designs and Kathy Schmitz’s block. Meg Hawkey has a great Sparkly Snowman project on her blog that I adore! Thank you so much for reprinting 100 Blocks Volume 1. That was a stroke of genius!
I did not get a copy before. I would love to get a copy. thanks for the chance to win.
I really like the Spring Blosom By Peg Spiedin, I have some pastel fabrics that I think would look terrific with this pattern
I liked Wendy’s blog about zigzagging the edges of her quilt before applying the binding to eliminate the frequent puckers that can occur with a little slack in the edging.
On Sue Garman’s site I love the Pixelated color wheel. I think I am going to make a tote for my cousin using Peg Spiedin’s Spring Blossom. We are going to visit her across the pond in April and I think she would like it.
Thank you SO much for the reprint!!! I’m so excited to get a copy
I went to Eleanor Burns website, and found lo and behold, another giveaway!
i would love to get a copy of the book………im looking .. where.. can i get one…i learning to quilt. and i think i love it…….
Ms. McNeill’s Bluebirds Welcome is sweet applique!Love the colors she uses!
So here are some of the things I enjoyed while visiting the blogs and homepages. Edyta Sitar’s Laser cut silhouettes are tempting, especially the Spring Bouquet border. If you’re in the looking for some modern quilting inspiration, then Sue Garmen’s blog is the place to go. Jacquelynne Steves has some of the cutest patterns in her “free stuff” section, as does Carol Doak. Pearl P. Pereira (don’t you love that name?) has taken the Baltimore Album to a whole new level. And Wendy Shepard’s tip about zigzagging around the edge of a quilt before adding the binding will save some headaches on some quilts. Way to go ladies!
I adore the selvage projects I saw on Karen Griska’s website, particularly the potholders. This is such a fascinating and fun way to use those little bits that seem so utilitarian yet seem to be designed to throw away; they have a beauty all of their own. And now I no longer need to feel that sad wastefulness of throwing them out!! Thank you Karen.
So many beautiful blocks and so little time to make all of them!! The design of the mug is wonderful!! Every quilter should have one! Anyone learning to quilt or a very experience quilter would love all of your 100 blocks magazine!
I’m making a simple read and green applique quilt, and need just 2 more blocks. I bet I could find them in the magazine!
I have copies 3-6. and have even been looking for 1 & 2 used, would love to win this copy or will even just be glad if I can get to Joanna and get this one before it is sold out
I’m planning a pineapple sampler. The “Bluebirds Welcome” block will be a great addition!
I like Karen Combs “Smoky Mountains” block. We live about 2 hours from the mountains and every opportunity that we get, we travel there to enjoy the beautiful mountain scenery. Thanks for including me in this fabulous giveaway — would like to have the mug and definitely the magazine.
I am a subscriber to your wonderful magazine I also have a couple of your later 100 block mags but as relatively new quilter I missed the first and from a couple of the above blocks would dearly love to have it Would you be printing more volume 1′s
Thank you for your reply Geri
There are so many talented designers out there-good thing since I could never come up with something myself! Patterns are sooo helpful and make the project go more smoothly too! Loved what I found by Ann Weber and Joanne Rowicki at the Gingham Girls site, especially Springs Best in the Celebrate the Season’s Book. I fell in love with a couple of the projects and look forward to giving them a try, especially like the table runners on their site. Another I checked out was Lynda Howell because I liked the holiday design shown on this site. The Stitch Connection has fantastic patterns for the holidays, flowers, babies and more. My only disappointment was that I have to go see if a local store has the patterns I want rather than purchase online. I copied down several stores but whether they’ll carry what I like is yet to be seen. Fortunately there are LOTS of other sites and patterns I discovered I liked and books of 100 patterns Out there that I can rely on!
Just visited Fig Tree & Co site, which I love. I’m a fan of Joanna Figueroa’s fabrics and patterns. I also visited Heidi Pridemore and Laurie Simpson, 2 others I try to follow and love their patterns! So many of my favorites are listed, I’ll have to visit them all. I would love to obtain a Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Vol. I and give some new blocks a try. Would love a mug, but haven’t got the magazine yet so can’t make a block to enter!
Since I loved the blocks by Lynn Howell and Ann Weber, I decided to check out those two sites first, The Stitch Connection and Gingham Girls. Both have wonderful quilting projects. The Stitch Connection has wonderful patterns for the holidays that would be fun to make and use plus flowers, children and baby patterns and much more. I copied down some local stores that sell the patterns and hope they’ll have some that I like.
The Gingham Girls has a book of patterns I love and can’t wait to work on. The patterns for Spring in Season’s Best are definitely calling me to be ready for spring! Well, off to check out some more sites and off to my sewing! (I have 3 quilts in progress and now I need to make a block I can enter for a mug since I give everything I make away: )
I enjoyed reading the story behind Jane Quinn’s block and how she was able to create the block even though she was recovering from cataract surgery and had some limited vision.
As a new quilter I am very excited to see so many stunning blocks by talented people, the colours and creations are really inspiring. I have recently purchased my first 100 blocks magazine no 5, now want them all.
I am going to be teaching one of Eleanor Burns designs later this month and I enjoyed looking at the new things she has one her site. I also looked at some “new to me” designers and saw some interesting designs as well. Not enough time to do as much as catches my eye. Hmmmmmmm
Love the Bonnie Hunter patterns in the Quiltmaker magazines.
Escribo de Chile y estoy tan feliz de que esto está siendo reproducido Me encantaría tener una copia, quiero aprender y me interesaría ser parte de las afortunadas
I just love all the clever applique blocks!
I visited Lynette Anderson’s blog/website, she has some really cute free patterns there. She also has a lovely little wooden kitty pin in her shoppe that I must have! >^..^<
Just bought Volume 1. Now have all 6 issues. It is a wonderful resource quide and I have also subscribed to Quiltmaker magazine.
Love the book.
Chris Hoover! I read your blog because we share the same first name. Wow! We share more than that. Like you, I am an eclectic quilter. I love all aspects of quilting and so many different genres of quilt fabrics and designs. Winning the 100 Quilt Blocks would keep me inspired for many months to come. Thank you for the opportunity!
I’m new to applique and I’m lovin’ it!!!
I follow Kay Mackenzie and Eleanor Burns are they inspire me, but I like to visit quilt blogs so it was fun to do that with your list of designers. Heidi Pridmore’s children quilts were cute, and I like the fish quilt the best. Thanks for republishing Vol. 1.
I visited Monica Solorio-Snow’s site and LOVED her Ron Swanson quilt! Thanks
I visited Monica Solario-Snow’s website and just LOVE the pennie pockets she has … a great little idea for Valtntine’s Day, but since money may still be tight next Christmas, I want to start creating for next year ASAP and these will be perfect! I love to have something small for everyone that comes for our family Christmas, and since I am now combining families with my boyfriend there are even more people for creative gift giving opportunities. And I ALWAYS love to have a little something for myself … so a 100 Blocks coffee mug will be perfect! Thanks for giving me the opportunity to win one.
I love Texas Circle Around by Lynn Roddy Brown – I love the use of scraps, and the motion in the square. It makes me smile!
The quilts for the twins are great!
I went to Elizabeth Scott’s site and I think her little girl’s skirt made with a feature cupcake fabric was adorable.
I enjoyed seeing the selvage items on Karen Griska’s blog, and the redwork Baltimore on Terri Clothier Thompson’s.
Lori Smith’s website was full of applique and was great. I just picked a name to see so was very intrigued with her site as I love to applique.
I do so love all the sites I’ve visited thus far – and such fun and wonderful info. Thank you for all that you’ve done to keep up up to date,
What a wonderful group of designers/websites. Can’t wait to get my hands on vol 1 to make Lynda Howell’s snowperson. Thanks so much for reprinting this.
It would be fun to look at all the blocks and imagine using them in a colorful quilt! Thanks, Quiltmaker!
I would enjoy winning
I love the Baubles and Beads quilt on the McCall’s Quilting blog (Kathy Patterson)
I love the Mediterranean Mosaic that Wendy Sheppard is working on ~ the fabric is awesome! And the 5 new quilts that Camille Roskelley recently finished ~ the new fabric is fabulous and the quilts are fantastic!
Pam Buda has a really great section on “make-do” quilts…I discovered I have several!
I would love, this book, as a new qui…lter I am still trying ro learn more
I loved reading about the modern quilts on Sue Garman’s blog. Thanks for the chance to win this–I’m a new quilter and missed the first few volumes of the 100 blocks.
I visited Pat Sloan’s website and could not stop. What a great site and lots of ideas. Plus really creative patterns–and a newsletter to sign up for–WOW! Thanks for sharing such great websites to visit. I hope to view more of them. And thank you so much for offering a chance to win the 100 Block book! It would be a great item to win!
I visited many of the websites of the block designers. And I know that I have to check out all of the websites/blogs. Each one has something to offer. So, I will be bookmarking this page so that I can keep checking out these wonderful designers websites and blogs.
I learned that I want the pattern for the “home to roost” quilt from Red Rooster Fabric. Such a cute quilt!! Can’t wait to get it and make it.
The article from Elizabeth Dackson is a really good one!
My favorite part of making a quilt is … getting done!
She has alot of beautiful blocks in her paper piecing segment.
Pingback: 100 Blocks Volume 1 Reprint Issue & Mug Winners! | Quilty Pleasures Blog

OMGOSH I would so love these blocks!
I really like looking at the designers sites.
I get inspired, and alot of good intentions, from them.
Being a newbie quilter this book would give me such a great start to my quilting! I would love to be chosen for this giveaway!
Thank you for the opportunity!!
Sure wish I’d seen this before the cut-off date! Congrats to all that win.
would love to win this to get back into quilting again….wonderful looking patterns
Ann Weber’s summer’s best is just the prettiest block to see in the middle of winter!
I love books like this as a reference and project inspiration. I’m really interested in doing a quilt using the “flip side” pattern or something similiar!
I looked at Beth Ferrier’s blog. She had a beautiful applique basket design made out of batiks. It was absolutely gorgeous! Of course, everything she does is gorgeous.
Your mug is absolutely gorgeous and the blocks, well what can I say. Lovely, marvelously lovely. Thanks for the chance to win!!!!! (-:
I love the block by Kathy Schmitz–her designs are always fabulous! I love coffee (and quilting-themed mugs too!)
Missed the first edition…still looking for it or the 2nd but if I win…!!
