Quiltmaker’s Countdown to Christmas continues!

Today we’re featuring a virtual Show & Tell of Christmas or holiday quilts we have published in the past few years. Each image is linked to our shop site where that issue may be purchased, in case you don’t have it. Enjoy!
You Got Cookies? by Sonja Callaghan is in the Nov/Dec ’12 issue of Quiltmaker. Is this polar guy friendly or what?!
In that same issue, we featured Jingle Patch. He’s the final character in QM’s Patch Pals Collection. I showed this quilt during a recent guild program, and someone suggested we name him Foggy Patch. I thought that was brilliant!
This is Dresden Delight, also from Nov/Dec ’12. These colors suggest the holidays, but it would be fun in blues and white, or pastels, or any number of color combinations.
Going back to last year’s Nov/Dec issue, Denise Russart’s Boxes and Bows was prominent as the cover quilt.
We also had fun with Winter Critters, another Sonja Callaghan design. Find the pattern in two parts: Nov/Dec ’11 has Part 1, and Jan/Feb ’12 has Part 2.
The Santa’s in Stitches stocking was an opportunity to use decorative machine stitches. Wouldn’t this snowy stocking look great on the mantel?
And of course there was Polar Patch. I just adore this little penguin pair. Super easy to make with mostly squares and half-square triangles.
Snow Globe Village appeared in Nov/Dec ’10. This quilt brings back memories for me—how about you? I still love to pick up a snowglobe and shake it.
Paula Stoddard designed and made O Christmas Tree with wool applique. Cute as can be.
We made Starlit Forest as a group project for a co-worker who was beginning a new career as a nurse. The pattern is in Quiltmaker’s Nov/Dec ’10 issue.
And Flip Flop Ornaments concluded a string of Flip Flop quilts we designed. The silvery purples, blues and grays are cool as a cucumber. The instructions for Flip Flop quilts are in Jan/Feb ’10; the ornament itself is in Nov/Dec ’10 (you need both).

No shortage of ideas for holiday quilts, right?! I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s virtual Show and Tell. Please come back tomorrow for more Countdown to Christmas fun.

I love the polar bear! How cute
Several of these are on my “to accomplish” bucket list. The bear and the snow buddies are really cute–and simple too.
