We’re looking for some great scrap quilters! Applications for the 2013 QM Scrap Squad are open.
Scrap Squad members are given one predetermined pattern from each issue; they make a scrappy version of the quilt for online publication. QM provides the patterns and the maker keeps the quilts. The commitment is to make six quilts during the year. The time frame to complete each project is usually between four and eight weeks. You will take digital photos as you sew and write brief descriptions for our blog.
Good Scrap Squad candidates will enjoy making scrap quilts, be confident in their quiltmaking skills including occasional applique and foundation piecing, and work well under deadlines. A well-developed color sense is necessary. Candidates should be active online in at least one platform such as a blog, Facebook or other quilting community and be comfortable with technology (posting photos, printing pdfs, etc.). Scrap Squad members must be current subscribers to Quiltmaker.
We’ll take applications now through midnight on December 15; responsibilities will begin in January and run through 2013. To apply, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org with “SS application” in the subject line. Describe your skills, your availability and your online activity. Include three photos of (or links to) scrappy quilts you have made.
Selections will be made and announced by Friday, Jan. 4, 2013.
