Welcome back to Quiltmaker’s Countdown to Christmas.
Today I’d like to introduce you to a friend of ours. Her name is Bonnie Hunter. She’s a quilter, designer, teacher and author.
She writes a column for Quiltmaker called Addicted to Scraps. Some of the blocks she has featured are pictured above. Each image is linked to a page where you’ll find instructions for a scrappy quilt using the block. There’s a block pattern in every regular issue of Quiltmaker (a great reason to subscribe).

Bonnie does an annual online mystery quilt, which is going on right now and is always so much fun. This year’s mystery is called Easy Street and it’s not too late to join in. It’s completely free of charge! By the way, Quiltmaker will host a Bonnie Hunter mystery in early spring 2013. Stay tuned for details!

Bonnie’s blog is full of her adventures with teaching quilt classes, collecting vintage sewing machines, searching for scrappy old quilts and much more.
Bonnie’s most recent addition is something she calls QuiltCam. She started QuiltCam several months ago and if you haven’t seen it yet, I hope you’ll take a look. QuiltCam is a live event from Bonnie’s sewing room. She turns on the camera and chats with anyone who is there to listen, while she pieces or presses or cuts or whatever.

QuiltCam has gotten to be quite popular. Whenever I have watched, there have been hundreds of others watching, too. There’s a little counter so you can actually see how many people are watching at any given moment.
As Bonnie sews, she talks about her strategies for scrap quilts. She gives tips and pointers. She tells about things she has learned. She shares her opinions on a variety of topics. Sometimes she just sews quietly—and you can hear her music playing softly in the background.

I sometimes turn on QuiltCam because it keeps me company while I am sewing. It’s like having a girlfriend over—only you don’t have to clean up! It’s really kind of fun. My DH just shakes his head when I say, “Bonnie’s on. I’m going to sew.”
Your family members might think it’s kind of weird when you have a companion with you in your sewing area, especially if you start answering her. But who among us ever cared about stuff like that?! Go ahead and sew with Bonnie on QuiltCam, answer her if you like, and just enjoy the company.
If the screen is dark, you'll know that Bonnie is not currently live on Quilt Cam.
To be sure you understand: QuiltCam is a live event, so if Bonnie is there and has her camera on, you’ll be able to see her at quiltville.com. If the small screen is dark, it means there is no live event going on right then.

Bonnie usually posts on Facebook and on her blog when she is planning a QuiltCam event, so it pays to “Like” Quiltville on Facebook or to subscribe to her blog so you automatically get any updates. I would estimate that QuiltCam happens a few times each week but it depends on Bonnie’s schedule. It’s quite regular in December because she is not traveling over the holidays.
Bonnie will be featured as a keynote speaker for Quiltmaker’s Block Party in Portland, Oregon March 20–23, 2013.
We enjoyed her tremendously at the first Block Party in Williamsburg, and we look forward to hearing from her again. Bonnie’s classes are sold out but there are many wonderful classes still open with other great teachers like Jo Morton, Carrie Nelson, Gudrun Erla, Beth Ferrier, Julie Herman, Peg Spradlin and myself. I found Bonnie’s blog few years ago and have been following it regularly. Through her blog I have gotten good useful tips. I also like how she tells and shows pictures from her teaching trips (nice quilting guilds, interesting cities and historical places). I haven’t seen her ‘live’ on quilt camera because I live in Scandinavia and the time difference is 7 hours. It would be fun to see her sometimes on quilt camera – perhaps I get up some night to do that. I like her mysteries and ‘addicted to scraps’ column so I’m very excited about Bonnie’s new mystery in Quiltmaker magazine during this spring.

Quilt Cam is a joy, Bonnie shares tips and tricks, and answers viewers’ questions. Since I’ve become a fan of Bonnie’s my piecing has become more accurate and I have learned to enjoy small pieces.

Making my first mystery quilt with Bonnie now… Easy Street. Love quilt cam… She always pops up with helpful hints during her time visiting with me in my quilt room. Almost like a private min retreat when she’s on!

I have been a Bonnie Hunter follower for about 3 years and I just love her. I really enjoy QuiltCam as someone who can’t get out to guilds or retreats it’s like having my own private class in my home with hundreds of other watchers. I’m a big fan of Bonnie Hunter–her Quiltcam is great because it’s great sewing time for me…sometimes I sew and sometimes I put the headphones on and just gaze at her listening to her sew up a storm! She’s such an inspiration to us all!
I love reading Bonnie’s Blog and watching her on quiltcam. Because I live in England I only get to see her when she sews on Sunday afternoons, though I did have a sleepless night once and managed to catch her at 2am (my time). I’m a new quilter and I’ve learnt so much just by listening and watching Bonnie. I’m avidly saving every scrap, and buying up cotton shirts from the charity shops, so that I can make a real scrappy quilt from one of Bonnie’s patterns.

I met Bonnie thru her website and blog a few years ago. I have made 2 of her mystery quilts and 2 quilts from her books. I’m working on her newest mystery, Easy Street, now. I love scrappy quilts! I had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie in June when she taught at our guild for 2 days. She is so fun and friendly and down to earth. I love Quilt Cam too. I would love her newest book, I want to make the pineapple block quilt.
I love Bonnie!! I just discovered her this past summer and my technique has improved so much following her tips! More matching seams, less bulk and cuter backings now that I use her techniques! I found Bonnie last year when she did Orca Bay and have become addicted ever since. I love the quilts she does as well as the quilt cam. I LOVE Bonnie! I met her throught the internet clear back in 1999!! She actually helped me decide which longarm machine to purchase. I have since taken classes with/from her and we always have a blast. When she was in OH this past summer, I took my friend to her class and then were able to have dinner with Bonnie. Bonnie has taught me that ‘it all goes together’. I was so afraid of pleasing others with my quilts, when the only one that matters is me! I have fallen in love with “STASH” quilts! I found Bonnie Hunter a couple of years ago and have been following her ever since. I read her blog everyday. I love her mystery quilts and headed up and helped others in my guild make ‘Carolina Christmas’. That was a lot of pieces in a quilt ! Love her scrap saver system as well. Just watch her debone a mans shirt, wow ! Her patterns are the best for using up your scraps. Thanks Bonnie for making scrap quilts popular again.
I love Bonnie’s blog and have watched her QuiltCam a few times now. I found quiltville by accident a couple of years ago and have been a fanatic follower ever since. Sadly, I’m not all that computer savvy, but I roam through her site, drool over her patterns, and follow the mysteries with delight. My goal is to eventually get to a Quiltmaker Block Party and attend her classes …. In person. Sigh …
I’ve been following Bonnie’s quiltville blog for several years and have made multiple quilts and wall hangings from her patterns. She is amazingly generous with her patterns and tips and encouragement. Even though Bonnie doesn’t know ME, I consider us best buds. I have not bought her String Fling book yet (it would tempt me to start yet another project and I need to clear more UFOs first), so you could feed my addiction by picking me!!!

Yep I’m a Bonnie Stalker I’ve made several mystery quilts and I’m working on the Easy Street also have a string quilt going. I met Bonnie a few months ago when she came to our quilt guild meeting. I was an instant fan!
I love Bonnie’s quilts. My grandmother was the queen of scrap quilts before Bonnie came along. So my first exposure to a Bonnie pattern was when I came across the Sister’s Choice pattern in which my 2 sisters, 2 cousins, my aunt and my mother decided to do a block exchange with each other. What could be better than Sister’s Choice?? Since then I have made the last 2 mysteries and am currently working on Easy Street and I took a class when Bonnie was at my local guild. I just recently bought 100 Blocks in response to Bonnie’s blog. Keep up the good work!

Because of health issues, I have been away from quilting for four years. Bonnie’s joy and energy has pulled me back to my passion and joy. Quilt cam has been a big factor in that ” grab a project and join me!” Much of my present happiness is due to Bonnie’s getting me back to quilting. Bonnie did that by being Bonnie. I have subscribed to Quiltmaker to get Bonnie’s patterns. I am really glad I did because it is a great magazine.

I first heard of Bonnie years ago….sometime around 2001, when I was searching for a longarm quilter. I mailed her a special quilt I made for my Mom…and received back a dazzling quilt with beautiful quilting. I have faithfully followed Bonnie over the years, but last year was my first Bonnie quilt. That’s when I tried a mystery quilt for the first time. I loved it! I am hooked and am currently working on Easy Street. I would love to receive her new book as I really enjoyed the string piecing in last year’s mystery quilt.
I am not familiar with Bonnie, but could really use a good scrap quilt book! Thanks for sharing her story – now I may finally find things to do with all of those scraps I’m holding onto.

I found Bonnie and her quiltcam several months ago. So far, as a result of her blog, I have reorganized my stash closet using her folding method, started a leaders/enders cheddar bow tie quilt, ordered two of her books, started cutting up my scraps into strips for future “Bonnie” projects, and joined in the latest mystery quilt fun. I don’t, however, have her “String Fling” book and would love to own it.
Your blog post on Bonnie is great and very well deserved. She inspires so many people. I avidly follow Bonnie on Quiltville and Quilt Cam when I get a chance. My friend recommended her to me a few years ago and I have been following her since. I am currently working on Easy Street and I have started Orca Bay. I am lucky enough to be able to meet Bonnie as she is coming to the International Festival of Quilts in Galway, Ireland next June. I have given myself an early Christmas and Birthday present and booked all 3 of her workshops. I am so looking forward to them.

I’ve been a Bonnie Hunter fan for the last six months. My first quilt was a scrap quilt. My grandmother gave me all her scrap fabric and I put it all together into a log cabin quilt and then gave that quilt back to grandma. She was so delighted! My first sewing machine was a Free-Westinghouse which I hope to restore soon (needs new wiring). Today I’m following along making the Easy Street quilt and enjoying every minute of it! Thanks to all.

I started with Bonnie just about 2 years ago when I had to get control of my scraps. I spent the time to cut them for her system. Love it!!! I made my first quilt from her free patterns that ended up being a silent auction quilt. I am now participating in Easy Street mystery quilt. So much fun. She is wonderful and so willing to share her tremendous knowledge!

OMG, OMG, OMG…I’m a Bonnie Groupie! What a great Christmas present to me from me for me. Okay, so I’m being a little stingy, but honestly, this book would be used to make quilts for all the other members of my family (and friends, and charities, and whomever cared to take one of my fabric addictions). Ho, Ho, Ho to all of you and hope, hope, hoping I get a copy of that book!
I love everything that Bonnie does. I have her first 2 books and will never live long enough to do all the quilts in them that I have ‘tagged’ to do. I keep putting her other books on my wanted list but so far family hasns’t gifted me with another one yet.

I’ve only been following Bonnie for a couple of years. I just love her!! Her 2012 mystery quilt (Orca Bay) was my first mystery. It went together perfectly. If it had not been for it being a mystery, I would have never tackled it! I had the pleasure of meeting Bonnie when she came to Lexington, Kentucky. She is such a nice person!! I love all of her quilts!! Every one of them!!! I’m working on her 2013 mystery, Easy Street right now and I’m loving it!
I’ve followed Bonnie Hunter for years, and am a scrappy quilter too. I can’t resist buying pretty plaid shirts and vintage prints. I’ve already made a new years resolution to finish many started quilts, one for each of my kids, grandkids, great grands, in 2013. I have been following Bonnie since I took two classes from her at Celebration 2010 in Virginia. One quilt from her pattern “Pineapple Blossom” is on my bed right now. I’m also participating in the current mystery. I’ve learned a lot from Bonnie such as using current quilt projects as “Leaders and Enders” and how to cut up my scraps. She is full of energy and has lots of tips. Any time any of you have a chance to hear her lectures or take a class, please do. Whether you like scrappy quilts or not she is very informative. I really love her columns in Quiltmakers magazine, it is the first thing I open up when it arrives in the mail.
I love her mysteries, once a year when all humdrum with the season is giving that much stress that the only way to unstress and get my head empty is hopping on the clues of her weekly posts.
And most of all: I am addicted to her books, the scraps that I can pull from the shelves to make them, and the colorfull quilts that will emerge from them.
I guess it shines from me: I infected quite a few people with the BKH virus, art quilters amongst them!
I wish she was living next to me…. but the computer is a good second option!

I love quiltcam time! And my husband is also shaking his head when i’m watching. I can only watch when she is doing it on Sunday afternoon. When she starts at 2pm it is 8pm in the Netherlands. When she starts at 8 or 9pm it is in the middle in the night here and I need my sleep! She is so generous in everything she shares with us, who wouldn’t love her?
But…. Even though I’m a fan for many years I still don’t have a single book she has written. They are not easy to be found in the Netherlands. So I would love to win one!

Have several Bonnie Hunter quilts done, and many more started. She has me loaded down with two inch squares, she has even inspired me to design my own quilts using those squares. Can’t wait to try the Bonnie web cam.
The best thing about following Bonnies instructions is that yours might not turn out to be perfect, but if you love making the quilt, then its ok. They dont have to be perfect. She gives a lot of inspiration to many. I love her quilt cam, and her mystery quilts. Easy Street will make my third mystery quilt.

I learned about Bonnie’s website a number of years ago when I was looking for patterns to use for our charity quilt projects at my guild. I have been in charge of the program for about 15 years and Bonnie has been so generous with her “free patterns” on her website. I rarely have to look further than her site for a wonderful, new, EASY quilt, adaptable to the size we need. Thanks, Bonnie, for all you do for the quilting world. I am a quiltmaker. I do not make art quilts or heirloom appliqué beauties. I make quilts to sleep under and to wrap up in to watch a scary movie. I make quilts that the kids can make into a tent or a toddler can drag around the house. I make utility quilts. Bonnie has inspired me so much in my quiltmaking that I can not imagine not crediting her for my successes. Thank you Bonnie for bringing us back to our roots.

Bonnie Hunter is absolutely my favorite quilt teacher and author . She is so generous and talented. I love her down to earth approach when she does quilt cam. It is like having a friend to sew with. I took her class when she came to Beaumont, Texas. What fun! She has unique ideas and I think that is why I can’t wait to read her blog posts everyday.

I discovered Bonnie in November when I went to my 2nd Quilt Guild meeting in Tallahassee where she was the guest speaker …I just love her concept of using scraps and old clothing…my husband had just cleaned out his closet and after seeing her “debone” a shirt on a Youtube video, I immediately grabbed some shirts from his give away pile and “deboned” 16 shirts for my own stash of scraps…I haved since followed her on her blogsite, webcam, Facebook page and even subscribed to Quiltmaker digital just for her column.

I would love to have Bonnie Hunter’s new book, String Fling! I even have it on my Christmas list. I just completed the mystery quilt from last year and am working on this year’s mystery, Easy Street. I saw Bonnie at a guild meeting trunk show several years ago. (I almost didn’t go, but my husband encouraged me to go ahead and go. I’m so glad I didn’t miss seeing her.) I’ve followed Bonnie for about 4 yrs. and made one of her scrappy patterns and its on the bed in our guest room. I love it! Bonnie is such a warm, caring person and an energizer bunny kind of gal!
I love Bonnie no did Orca Bay with her and am starting Easy Street. She is so I aspirational and down to earth in terms if her thoughts on quilting.
I was first introduced to Bonnie in 2007 when I told my mom I wanted to start quilting with her and she said we could do this mystery quilt that Bonnie Hunter was doing, Carolina Crossroads. I was hooked! Ha Ha! I still have that quilt but it shows how far I have come! I have done all her mysteries, some a couple of times, and a few of her free patterns as well. I got to meet Bonnie when my mom and I ventured up to Ontario Ca and took a Sister’s Choice class from her at the big quilt show On the Road to Ca. She autographed my quilt I had finished, Roll Roll Cotton Bole! I got introduced to the Quiltmaker magazine due to her and still have my subscription, looking forward to each issue for new blocks from her and other quilters. Some people call me a groupie but I just love her quilts, her helpful tips, wonderful personality etc. I also enjoy sewing with her on Quilt cam. I go to my mom’s once a week to spend the night and sew and we love sewing with Bonnie! I have all her books but haven’t gotten her latest yet, although I just bought one for a friend for Christmas! Would love to have my own copy to add to my collection.
I have been visiting Bonnie’s website and blog since before I became a beginner quilter. She is so upbeat and gives her patterns away free! What a great person !

Bonnie works very hard to get her quilts ‘right’. They are scrappy but not ‘junky’ . Bonnie has made quilting easy for those who can’t run out and buy tons of fabric at the quilt stores. Cheers to Bonnie!!!

Anytime she posts that quiltcam is coming on…I’m off to the sewing room to watch & sew with Bonnie. Have not yet viewed quiltcam but have seen the posts on FB. Being overseas, timing can be a bit tricky, but once I relocate to Illinois next year, will be on my list. In the meantime using Bonnie’s tips on useful scrap sizes to cut as I sort through my stash in preparation for the big move. After eighteen years in Bangkok, there is a lot of fabric.
I’ve known “of” Bonnie for quite awhile, as she was on some online groups I was in before she was famous. I’ve never met her in person, but am excited that I will be meeting her in March at the Quiltmaker’s Block Party here in Portland! Since I’ve been quilting for 30+ years, I have lots of scraps to use up. Bonnie’s patterns are the greatest for that!

I just love Bonnie’s patterns…..I have made several of her designs….I love the Pineapple Blossom, Sister’s Choice, and others……I love watching the cam….and all her vintage sewing machines….I have gotten now so I look at the sewing machines I see at goodwill, salvation army and st. vincent depaul……I have bought one at goodwill, but have not sewn on it….it is similar to a featherweight, but soooo heavy.

I just recently subscribed to Quiltmaker and found Bonnie’s quilt cam and what a GREAT find it is! After life changes I don’t have anyone to quilt with on a regular basis and the fun had gone out of my quilting so I haven’t been doing much. Now after watching Bonnie the last six weeks I’m back to it again, feels like I’m quilting with a friend and it motivates me. I check for quilt cam every day because I don’t want to miss one, I plan my day and get everything lined up so I’m ready to go. Bonnie is such an inspiration and blessing to us all – a one of a kind! I’m so happy to have found Bonnie! Friends and family thought I was crazy for loving my little scraps. QuiltCam is wonderful: someone to sew with with the same love of reuse, and make do and so so small! And now my many old machines have a friend as well.

I’ve know about Bonnie since she was on Yahoo’s Scrapbuster group years ago. I’m finally starting to make a quilt (Easy Street) from her patterns. I love using up scraps and tidbits of cloth. I’ll be making more. She’s an inspiration to me and I follow her Quiltcam when I can. Thank you for the opportunity for her new book!
Oh my gosh I had the priviledge to take 3 classes with Bonnie in 2012. One when she was at my guild in March and then 2 at the QM Block Party in Williamsburg. I completed the Pineapple quilt from the guild class, but the other two are Works in Progress. I am now working Easy Street!

I met Bonnie recently as she visited Lansing, MI and lectured and taught our guild, the Capitol City Quilt Guild. Her program was great and she is a wonderful teacher!
I have subscribed to Bonnie’s blog but have never watched quilt cam. I will have to give it a try. When I finish a quilt now I cut my scraps by Bonnies’ measurements to be ready for a scrap quilt. I hope that I win her book.

A friend sent me the info for Bonnie’s blog. I get to read of her escapades and am tired just thinking about how much she can accomplish in a day, and still find time to share with the quilt world. I haven’t been able to hook up with her quiltcam. Unfortunately her note comes through just as we are turning off the lights for the night. Too many hours between here and there. I love to make scape quilts and have decided to try one of Bonnie’s in the New Year. A book with instructions would be so helpful. Merry Christmas to one and all from a very snowy day in Nova Scotia.

First Mystery Quilt going strong! Thanks, Bonnie! I discovered this darling of the quilt world on quiltville.com but have never shouted out about what she means to me! Bonnie’s so down to earth and practical. We live in the swamp and she’s like the next door neighbor/quilting buddy of my dreams. It doesn’t matter how big a mess I am in, Bonnie always makes things better.
I learned about Bonnie 7 years ago. I have done several of her mystery quilt alongs, bought all her books and visit her blog everyday along with QuiltCam. QuiltCam is great and like have a friend right there with you sewing. She is an inspiration to the world of quilts.

I discovered Bonnie Hunter last year. I don’t remember how I found her, but I do remember that she made quilting look so fun and easy that I became a quilter. I had to find a new passion: I couldn’t crochet anymore due to my arthritis. Quilting has become my escape. I can’t enter a fabric store without spending money, even if I don’t need fabric. Thank you Bonnie.
Bonnie really introduced me to scrap quilting and her scrap maker system. It has opened up a whole new avenue of quilting for me and I love it.

Ooooh, Bonnie! My first encounter was at Canyon Quilters Guild, which led me to her blog. Then I purchased Scraps and Shirttails. This led me to peruse Thrift Shops and my husband’s closet. Of course, by now, I HAD to subscribe to QUILTMAKER, to see what she was doing there! Then came Orca Bay Mystery Quilt. Woo hoo, Bonnie came back to Southern California, and she signed my quilt label at Beach Cities Quilt Guild. I am official Groupie!!! This month I’m engrossed in Easy Street! Now, when I’m not cooking, eating, cleaning dinner, I sew along with quilt cam!

I took two of Bonnie’s classes at Williamsburg, bring the total of my Bonnie classes to seven, including a quilting cruise to the Caribbean. I’ve been quilting for almost 45 years and Bonnie Hunter has changed how I think about fabric. I made a resolution to not buy any cloth in 2012 and still made quilts with the “Bonnie method”! Life is good.
I found Bonnie’s blog last year when I was trying to organize my scraps and looking for patterns and an organizational strategy. Bonnie’s scrap users system is great. I was going to order this book after Christmas, but maybe I will win it here! I am also doing the Easy Street mystery.

I was recently introduced to Bonnie this Fall. She was teaching some classes at the Bluegrass Quilt Festival. I had not been much of a scrap quilter, but really wanted to take a class. Her classes looked fun, so I signed up for a class and a lecture and I am having a great time. What a fantastic instructor and lecturer. I “like” her on facebook, follow her blog and have caught quilt cam a couple times. Now to get a laptop so I can watch quilt cam in my sewing room.

I found Bonnie’s blog on facebook a couple of years ago, right after she had posted all the steps to her Roll Roll Cotton Boll mystery quilt. I only read the directions one step at a time and almost choked when I hit the 600 hst step. Holy smokes! That was my first introduction to string blocks, and I have been loving them ever since! I always end up with a string that is uneven from one end to the other and too small to try to get other projects out of. I always have a bag of strings on hand for just the right project.
I love Bonnie’s blog, I love her patterns, and now I know what to do with some of the scraps I keep generating on my other projects that I cannot bear to throw away. Thanks, Bonnie!

I have been a fan of Quiltmaker magazine for too long to admit…LOL. My grandmother used to pass her copy on to me occasionally and now I pick one up sometimes while I am looking for fabric at the fabric store.
My husband’s cousin told me about Bonnie and her LiveCam feed around Thanksgiving time and ever since then, I have been hooked.
I am very dissapointed when the live feed does not work with out schedule and I have to miss it. My husband just laughs at me and shakes his head….but he really understands and encourages me in my arts, ( he also has many passions with all things wood). And I do consider quilting an “ART”….not everyone has the time or ability to work with fabric.
I started helping my grandmother with her utilitarian quilts when I was 6 years old. I would crawl under the quilt frame and pass the threaded needle back up through the layered quilt as she was tying the quilts off. Sometimes she let me help cut old clothes up to use in the quilts and I even got to pump the treadle of the sewing machine with my arms while sitting on the floor, when her legs got tired. Ever since those early days, I have loved fabric and have sewn for many family members and friends; making not only gift quilts, but clothes, including a wedding gown. I even made my brother a Tuxedo to wear to his senior prom…(he wanted to match his girlfriend’s dress) it was mint green….I laugh now when I think about it, but I had lots of people calling after he wore it wanting me to do one for them….but I do not sew for work, just for gifting. Otherwise, I think it would not be such a joy for me.
I would love to “win” on of Bonnie’s books….Bonnie’s use of old clothes to make new quilts is just like my grandmother and I did when I was a little girl.

I’ve followed Bonnie’s blog for awhile and her pattern site. I have one book of hers: “Leaders and Enders” and I am currently using one of the patterns. It is amazing how much you get done just with ‘enders’.
I have followed Bonnie for several years and was very lucky to be able to have taken a class with her. She is awesome teacher/quilter. Completed the Pineapple Blossom quilt and truly love doing a scrappy quilt. Great article on Bonnie. Maybe next year QM can give away an all expense paid trip to one of her classes.
The quilt I’m giving to my granddaughter for Christmas is a Bonnie Hunter Mystery Quilt Pattern, Double Delight. I have taken a workshop of Bonnie’s and enjoyed her program lecture. She’s is generous, kind, and a wonderful instructor.
I have been following Bonnie for years. I am making my third mystery with Bonnie. Love everything she does and says. She is the Queen of Scrappy Quilting.
I watched my first quilt cam last week. While I am not a techie I found it easy to use and log into and watch. What a great idea! I love Bonnie’s stories and tips and love that she sings along with the radio. She made me laugh when she changed the lyrics to. “Santa Baby” and sang, ” Santa Baby I need a new AccuQuilt and Longarm”‘ …so true ….I highly recommend watching her quilt cam….Rosalie
I have so enjoyed Bonnie and have even started my scrap saver system. I learned of Bonnie several years ago through on-line groups. Great write up. I always have my first cup of coffee with Bonnie in the morning. I have been following Bonnie for about 6 years,and have learned a lot. Hi I would love to win the book. I follow Bonnie from NZ all the time. I am doing Easy Street (although I do not care if I never see anither flying goose again lol) and I am really excited about what it will look like. I am trying to organise for Bonnie to visit us in Wellington NZ in 2016 in conjunction with Australia – that should be very exciting. I also join in on Quiltcam when I can – 9 pm EST time 2 pm the next day here at the moment and so I am usually at work. It is great when she Quiltcams on Fri and Sat:)

I started quilting just this past July and made my first quilt for my husband’s birthday. That was when I happened across Bonnie’s blog and started following her. I feel like I’ve been following her for years because I went back and read each of her blog posts starting with 2005! I really enjoy her Quilt Cam and just love having someone to sew along with. I have learned SO much from Bonnie and hope to actually take a class from her some day. Yes I am familiar with Bonnie! I have even watched her Quilt-cam a few times. I am waffling over participating in Easy Street Mystery Quilt. Bonnie made me realize that I can even include the “ugly” fabrics in my scrapascades!
Actually, I’ve followed Bonnie since she lived in Idaho and was an active member of the Dear Jane list. Could tell then that we were kindred spirits!!! Isn’t it wonderful, how she gives so freely of herself.

I am a relatively new quilter. First heard of Bonnie Hunter in Quiltmaker magazine. When she came to teach at the Tidewater Quilters Guild in Norfolk i felt as though I was meeting a Hollywood celebrity.
I love Bonnie’s upbeat and infectious personality. When I watch Quiltcam I feel like I am with a quilting bee with Bonnie being the head of the hive. No matter how bad my day may be going my spirits get lifted with Quiltcam.
The tips and chatter inspire me and helped me make my blocks finish closer to their size. Not quite perfect yet. Lol

I’m a Bonnie fan. I’ve followed her for years and have made many of her patterns. I’m working on Easy Street too. She’s the one that turned me on to my Easy Angle rulers that had laid around for far to long. I’m so glad she did because I love them. She also turned me into a scrap quilter for the majority of my quilts.

I have all of Bonnie’s earlier books – in fact, purchased several of her first book to give as gifts to friends who “needed an introduction”. Like many, many others I’m a big fan. Having been a recycler/repurposer long before that was a “thing”, I truly appreciate her attitude about scraps and their use. BTW Quiltmaker is my favorite quilting magazine. There was a time when I subscribed to 13 quilting magazines. Yes, I did say 13! Those days have ended, but Quiltmaker still comes to my mailbox!

Six years ago this quilter wanabe found “Bonnie’s site. It Inspired me to start where I was and quilt. I looked around me and found enough to make a string quilt, that I sent to Wrap them with a Smile. I use her site to choose quilts to make and also as a learning tool to improve my quilting. Thru her site I found “Quiltmaker” which I also love. With “Quiltmaker” and Bonnie’s Scrap System I made a baby quilt in three weeks for a shower gift. I love you both!
I found Bonnie about a year ago. I have to say she is the best teacher. I’m not able to get to her classes but Quiltcam is like I’m there. I like everything she does. I made a couple quilts in the 70′s like my Grandma made hers. Then I moved on to other crafts. I have just recently gotten back to quilting. I love the scrappy ones. I am a loyal follower of Bonnie’s! I did her mystery quilt “Orca Bay” last year and am doing her “Easy Street” with her this year. My friend and I are booked to go on an Alaska cruise with Bonnie in August of 2013! I absolutely cannot wait for that trip. I follow her blog and on facebook. I have been following Bonnie Hunter on her blog for a couple of years and currently undertaking her leaders and enders project. I love following her teaching adventures around USA and the world and seeing her students work. I have only lucked into watching her on Quiltcam once (due to time difference with Australia) but have already warned DH that I am taking a week off to go interstate to take a class with Bonnie when she visits Down under in October 2016!
I first knew Bonnie from Quiltsy Team on Etsy. I’ve just recently learned of quilt cam and hope to see her there soon.
I am really impressed by Bonnie’s ability to make such beautiful quilts from scraps. She has inspired me to work with all of the scraps I have been saving for years. There is actually a very small decrease in my scraps. I have used them in several projects! I am organizing them. At least something in my sewing room will be organized

I found Bonnie’s website before she started her blog. I was (and still am) fascinated by her Scrap User’s system. I love scrappy quilts and she is an inspiration to me! Oh, by the way, I started my subscription to Quiltmaker when Bonnie announced that she would have a article in every issue! I’m sure I’m not the only one.

I love Bonnie’s quilts, her blog and especially quilt cam! I get so much done when I’m sewing along with Bonnie and I learn stuff too. I’ve only made one quilt from Bonnie’s patterns so far, the Chunky Churndash. It was great fun to use scraps I already had, some for many years. I’ve been a fan of Bonnie’s for years! She’s one of the reasons I subscribe to Quiltmaker. And FINALLY after drooling year after after, I’m taking the plunge and doing EASY STREET. I haven’t started yet … but the last batch of fabrics are in the washer as I type. Bonnie: MAHALO for being the fabulous and giving quilter that you are.
Love Bonnie and Quiltcam….I am getting so much done just sewing with her for 2 hours per night. I have her spiderweb up on the design wall and cheddar bowties under construction.

I am very new to online quilting stuff. Too busy chasing my 3 year old grand daughter around and quilting a little now and then. I love scrap quilts though! Have lots of scraps saved up.
I have met Bonnie and taken a class from her. She did a trunk show at QuiltFest in Jacksonville, FL and it was great! I just finished last year’s mystery quilt, Orca Bay, and am preparing to do this year’s. I am Not Nearly as fast as Bonnie at getting things done, but she is great to follow on Facebook.
Because of my lots of scraps I like to quilt with the patterns and books written by Bonnie. I am looking forward to the spring mystery.

I am doing Bonnie’s mystry quilt. It is the largest quilt I have attmpted and I have come to the conclusion that it is a good thing it is a mystry because if I had seen stepts 1 through 4 all at once I would not have attpeted it. But all is going well. Looking forward to move of her blogs.

I can honestly say that Bonnie Hunter has been the greatest influence to me as a quilter. I have embraced her Scrap Users System and created my “best” quilts from Bonnie patterns. I LOVE her mystery quilts. I always associate these quilts with the holidays so it’s a natural to have some sort of Christmas fabric in the backing. It’s nice to see Quiltmaker give her this recognition.

Well, it didn’t take long to find out. It is absolutely a joy to be in class with her. She is completely unpretentious and down to earth. I felt like I had know her my entire life. I watch Bonnie faithfully every night. I followed her on Quiltville before she became famous and all her patterns were free. I have often said I wish we could have her as an instructor at our Spring Workshop but we are a long ways away and the cost would be prohibitive. So….making her mystery quilt “Easy Street” is as close as I’ll ever get to taking one of her classes.

I live in Australia and ‘found’ Bonnie last year when she started the Orca bay mystery.
I watched but didn’t participate then. Today I am proud to say I am doing Easy Street and am up to speed with this. I want to be-bone an op-shop shirt and see how much material I can get and my scraps are multiplying. I think she has another follower as all my scraps from Easy street are going into a tin to be sorted later! It looks like I will have to ask for a subscription to Quiltmaker for christmas or birthday both are close. Thankyou for publishing Bonnies blocks and I look forward to the mystery quilt.

I am so glad I found Bonnie’s Facebook and Blog several months ago. I enjoy sharing time sewing with her via Quiltcam and I’m so excited about doing my first Mystery quilt. I have learned so much in just a short time and I would enjoy her book as I learn to be a scrappy gal!!
I first met Bonnie when I did her Christmas lights mystery quilt in Quiltmaker magazine. Since then I follow her on her website and blog. I love the Addicted to Scraps column in quiltmaker and have made many of the blocks. I will have to make a smaller quilt one if these day out of them. I am currently doing her Easy Street mystery and am loving it.
I love reading Bonnie’s blog posts and sit with her on Quilt Cam days when I can. I have pieced one of her free quilt patterns so far and am participating with the Mystery Quilt this year. I also talked two others into doing the mystery with me-my Mom and sister. I am also trying to post a link to my blog on her link-ups and that has made me learn something new! Always a good thing.

I am a huge fan of scrappy quilts and refuse to throw any piece of fabric that’s 2″ sqare or larger. They can always go in a quilt! I love reading Bonnie’s column in every issue of Quiltmaker and seeing her take on scrappy blocks. Can’t wait to check out this new book!!
I found Bonnie’s blogspot by accident. I was looking for some patterns to use up some of my bit and pieces, and up she popped. I.ve been watching and reading her ever since! So far, I’ve made six scrap quilts and have plenty left for lots more. She is very generous with patterns and information, and her upbeat spirit keeps you going!

This summer I rediscovered Bonnie’s blog after having seen it a couple of times several years ago, before retirement. Yes, I’m soooo hooked on it now, Quilt Cam, too! I’ve gotten so into checking her blog that it is like checking to see what a friend is up to each day! And she is a real friend as she does so much for quilters who follow her and love her.
I’ve been a fan of Bonnie’s for a while now, and drove up to Williamsburg for the event and 3 days of classes with her! I would love to make all of her quilt patterns, and she is so much fun in person. I’m glad that she does quiltcam – more people can get to know her in person! I first met Bonnie at QuiltFest Jacksonville, attending her truck show. Sew inspiring! I’ve looked at scraps differently every since and used the Leader/Ender approach to complete a second project while working a current project! Love quiltcam, when I can get to the computer at the right time!

I have been following Bonnie for a couple of years now…..I love her blog and have just recently watched her quiltcam…I love it. Would love to try to win this new book of hers….Most of the quilts I do are scrappy and string quilts.
I’m working on the current Bonnie mystery quilt right now with three of my friends. I did last years as well, RRCB, however the pieced borders aren’t on it yet. I’ve decided 2013 will be the year of “finishings” I have so many quilts that need finishing right now. My favorite quilt is a quilt I made from one of her Shirt Tales books. I follow her blog because it is fun and interesting and filled with great ideas for scraps. I was recently introduced to Bonnies web site and the quilt cam. I have totally become hooked with Bonnie. I started quilting roughly 25 years ago, and when my mom died 20 years ago, so did my desire to quilt. I started sewing again about 3 years ago. My mom left 3 great big tote containers full of scraps, and all sizes of yardage for me to play with.
So I have been making 2 churn dash quilts one for each of my sons out of nothing but there grandmas material. Some of this material is older than me it looks like. So it will be interesting to see it all finished. I would so enjoy receiving a copy of her latest book and the seam guide as I have a terrible time with seam allowance. to all of you Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Have been a fan of Bonnie’s for quite awhile. I love going places with her, and the pictures that she shares of the interesting things she sees. Scrap Savers system has made it so much easier for me to manage my fabrics. Leaders & enders has helped so much with getting out some quilts I started. Just absolutely without a doubt LOVE Bonnie and have followed for some time. She’s rekindled my interest in scrap quilts…she’s made me fall in love again with my vintage machines…she’s one of the most amazing, giving, sharing, friendly quilters out there – and more often then not when I have a chance to catch her Quilt Cam, if she happens to read my comment, she “always” asks how my Mom is doing (my dear mom is 93) – and THAT touches my heart!

I have been following Bonnie at Quiltville for several years and love her ideas and block patterns. I have learned much from her. Her articles in Quiltmaker are always great. I just finished making some Christmas Mug Rugs using her pattern. Will be watching for her quilt cams.
I did not really know anything about Bonnie Hunter except for having heard her name and knowing she was a quilter. I will have to check our her quiltcam.
I am Bonnie’s Number One Fan (I have a shirt that says so!) and I have to say that Quiltmaker is now my favorite magazine because of Bonnie’s regular columns and the occasional mystery you have. I hope it becomes an annual event! She has got me addicted to scraps for sure!

I have been following in The Quiltmaker for years. I started looking at her blog this fall and I try to catch her quiltcam as often as possible. I am currently Doug the mystery quilt. This is so much fun. I am learning so many new techniques from her and the other bloggers. It’s like having a special friend to share your quilt passion with. I have been a fan of Bonnie’s for several years. I have used her patterns many times to turn some of my ugly fabric into beautiful keepsakes. She keeps on inspiring me to cut my scraps and everyone scraps from our quilting bee down to useable sizes. I love Bonnie Hunter! I have made many of her quilts as I am a scrappy quilter too. I’m working on Easy Street right now, although I am a few steps behind with real life aka work and holidays getting in my way :0) I have 2 of Bonnie’s books and I would love to add String Fling to my collection.
While I love both Quiltmaker and Bonnie Hunter, I am disappointed the clicking on the pictures of Bonnie’s block onlyt takes you to the Jack-in-the-Box page. I would like to see the Moth in the Window Quilt!

I love the idea for the quiltcam! What a smart person she is. Also now since I’ve been quilting for about 10 years, I have amassed enough scraps for tons more quilts! I recently went through a lot of my quilt magazines and pulled out what I considered “inspiration” quilts. Many, many of them were scrap quilts!!

I took one of Bonnie’s classes while she was in Lansing Michigan. It was fun. I learned some new tricks. And I enjoy reading her blog!
I found Bonnie a few weeks ago. A member of our Quilt Guild had made a quilt using one of Bonnie’s books. I was intrigued, so I looked her up. I have been an avid follower ever since.
Finally, I found someone who also loves and uses vintage machine! I only found Bonnie a week ago, and have learned a lot.
I have been following Bonnie for a long time. I have done several of her mysteries. I have also watched her on Quilt Cam. She is a joy to watch and to listen to her comments and advice.
To me, Bonnie Hunter is to quilting what Julia Childs was to cooking. She has come into our lives like a whirl wind and in a style so Bonnie she teaches us how to make quilts, how to appreciate quilts, how to see quilts and how to imagine quilts. Bonnie is the essence of good. My many thanks to her.

I’m a relatively new quilter and became acquainted with Bonnie when she did a presentation at our Quilt Guild. Her spirit and enthusiasm cathected with me almost immediately, and I became a Bonnie groupie. Her values about using scraps, and fabric that is meaningful to you, reinforced my own values, since I have a lot of fabric scraps from clothes my mother made me over the years. I am currently working on one of her quilts, and would love to win her new book!
Bonnie Hunter’s column in Quiltmaker is the reason I subscribed to this magazine initially. Of course I have found many other reasons to subscribe since. Every time quilt cam is scheduled I head downstairs to my sewing room and sew along with Bonnie. She keeps me on track and I get so much sewing done when Bonnie is keeping me company.

I heard about Bonnie from my quilting groups. Everyone is buzzing about everything. Her idea about the paint chip cards is wonderful and very creative.
I have been a fan of Bonnie Hunter for a few years. I have done one of her mystery quilts with a friend 1000 miles apart. It was so much fun for us to do it together. I know I won’t win but. I wanted to let Quiltmaker and Bonnie Hunter to know how I like using her patterns because of all the material I have and scraps. One thing I have learned from her is the saving of the corners of squares for use for another quilt.
Have followed Bonnie for years – love her quilty brain – thrifty ideas – wonderful ways to use up our scraps and ugly fabric. Have made several of her quilts and hope to make more.. working on the Easy Street now. She is such a giving person and her instructions are so easy to follow.. Enjoy the new blocks and information from her each month in Quiltmaker… She can sure keep her followers fired up with lots of ideas and fun..

Bonnie is one of my most favorite quilting people and has been for years. Love her scrappy style more than anything. The girl has more energy than I can imagine.
I would love to a a copy of Bonnie Hunters books. I have used some of her quilting ideas for quilts for charity quilts. Crumb Crumb pattern is wonderful for using up your scraps and making something wonderful for charity.
Love Bonnie, her inspiring body of work, her incredible energy and teaching ability….we had the privilege of hosting her in Cordova Alaska and it was an incredible weekend! She has inspired us to look at fabric and scrap organization in a new way and we have the BH inspired quilts to prove it!!!

I have been following Bonnie’s blog for a few years. Last year I was fortunate to get to take a class with her. I just recently finished my Pineapple Blossom that was started in class. I am now working on my first ever mystery quilt, Bonnie’s Easy Street!

The need to sew strings has exploded at our Quilt Guild since our Charity sew day using Bonnie’s String X pattern. We had the greatest time pulling out and using strings that haven’t seen daylight for quite awhile. We also cut up some “Fuglies” (AKA: fabric having trouble finding potential in a quilt) Bonnie is a great mentor of use it up but her quilt designs turn those “Fuglies” into beautiful quilts. We were able to turn our “Fuglies” into wonderful quilts for a local charity thanks to Bonnie! I would love to win a copy of her book for our Guild library so we can continue stitching up all our lose strings……

I got to use my Fathers and stepdads shirts both have passed , In your 7 shirt quilt. our guild had a workshop and made the 7 shirt quilt .It was fun. Then we had you for a day retreat.You are just the greatest.We had so much fun and learned so much. It’s just so much fun to use up scraps and make something so neat from your junk scraps. Thanks Bonnie for all the wonderful ideas and patterns you give us. I have gotten so many compliments on my quilt from the dads shirts. I have collected so many shirts now I’m addicted to buying shirts . so many neat patterns to use from them .I am a happy quilter!!!

I found Bonnie’s Quiltville website about a month ago and have now read every blog entry. I have loved scrap quilting for many, many years and have just recently had the room available to quilt as much as I desire having the luxury of space in my basement for all my machines, cutting table, storage of my fabric stash and ironing board. I am currently working on finishing 3 different quilts at once, and am starting to put Bonnie’s Scrap User’s System into place. (I have asked my husband for some shelves for Christmas so I can organize those scraps). I would LOVE to own Bonnie’s books so I can use those scraps in some wonderfully creative patterns. I have a fantastic time watching Bonnie sew on Quilt Cam and sit anxiously by while waiting to see if she will read the comments I leave for her. She lives not 3 hours from me but I have yet to meet her! Maybe if I win one of the books, I can get her to go to lunch one day so she can sign her book in person.
