I follow Bonnie Hunter on Quiltville and she recommended Quiltmaker to me. I am fairly new to quilting, but have been collecting material for years. I was determined that when I retired I was going to take up quilting and I did. My mother-in-law has given me several books on quilting and I spent hours browsing through them. I would absolutely love to win this mug. I have been quilting for many years and I come from a long line of quilters. As a child I thought you had to have blankets to be rich, but we had only quilts. I realize now that I have been rich all my life with all my quilts from my grandmother and great aunts. Also, I collect mugs, so this would be a wonderful addition.

If I win this lovely mug, as much as I like it, I would not keep it. I would give it to my wonderful instructor and friend, Penny Streeter. Not only does she keep her costs low so more of us can attend her classes, but she invites us into her home monthly for a Sit-n-Sew. We get to work on our projects in the company of other quilters. She also gives us one-on-one attention on any aspect of our project that we need help with. She is always patient and good-natured as she explains things. She never gets upset at showing the same technique over and over. She is a fantastic teacher.

This magazine of 100 blocks is one of the best resources I have ever purchased and then used. I still am working my way through the first one, which was four years ago, I think. I find ideas and go off on creative tangents or make it just as it appears. Fabric that I could not figure out how to use, gets included in projects. It is just great. But this time I am buying it on CD or digital, my other copies are in tatters and need replacement by now.

I love to use this book for inspiration. Our quilting group, quilts for Abilities of Northwest NJ and we make a quilt using different patterns for each block. These are raffled and the monies go to help the people with disabilites who are there. I love being able to contrubute to the quilt and it has so many good ideas in the magazine I always find too many and must select one which gets hard to do. Thanks for such a wonderful book. PS. I love the mug it holds the coffee which gets me started.
