I just know there has got to be an easier way to hand applique than with glue or toothpicks~ I would love to find an article like that in an upcoming issue. Thanks for the great tour! I found so many new blogs and designers.
I like to do hand applique with blanket stitch. I have my method (needle up from underneath on the edge) but I once saw a different method and would like to learn this but I’ve never found it again. The needle came up from underneath in from the edge of the applique piece.
I love learning all new techniques but at the moment I fancy trying some felting and working with felt.
I would like to learn needle turn applique. I have tried it a few times with not so very good results.

I’d like to learn how to applique. I guess I should say learn how to applique more accurately. I haven’t tried all the methods yet but, I wish there was a fool proof way to do it…at least one for this ol’fool! Thanks for great fun on this tour. Am already looking forward then next one.

I’m a fairly new quilter, so learning almost any technique is on my list, especially since there are always several ways to do anything — I need to try a few a pick the one that works for me.
My biggest desire is to learn to free motion quilt on my domestic sewing machine. I try and try, but get pretty discouraged, and end up going back to the walking foot.

I’d like to learn how to do curved seams.
I need to learn to applique in a way that works for me. I get frustrated with my lack of skills.
I’m interested in finding ways to make sure the seams are pressed so that the bulk doesn’t all end up in the same place. I seem to always end up with intersections where all the seams are pressed in the same direction, so there are with 6 or 8 or more layers of fabric in that tiny little place. There has to be a way to avoid that!
I would like to become more proficient with fusible applique.

Since I am just a beginner, I would like to learn more about paper-piecing. I know a lot of quilters enjoy applique, but this just scares me to death. It must be easy and addictive. I think I want to learn but it will take a lot of easy lessons.

I want to learn appliqué with bias tape/tubing/fusible tape, specifically creating designs in borders and blocks like Celtic knots and designs, such as Scarlett Rose’s designs and patterns.
For all of you that want an easier, faster, less mind-boggling Paper Piecing method, try Peggy Martin’s book Quick-Strip Paper Piecing, or her online Craftsy.com class by the same name! I use it for all my paper piecing and I love it!
I would like to learn more about mitering borders and unusual border finishes. I learn a great deal from reading your magazine — thanks.

I like scrappy quilts. Freehand quilting looks really good on the scrappy style quilts. I’d like to see more beginner tips. I like having a “hard copy” of a magazine. I carry it with me in my”go” bag.
I love learning new techniques but the one technique I would like to learn is Bargello. I love the look especially the swirl table runner I saw recently.

I enjoy looking at other quilter’s comments … I noticed there was a lot of applique mentioned! I saw someone using a cornstarch method of applique. They said it worked very nicely and made their pieces turn out great. I’d like to try that technique!

I watched a show where they did the binding on potholders, by using the border. There was technique that you marked the corner, cut and sewed, but can’t remember how they did it. Would love to have easier ways to bind a quilted piece that looks neat and uses the border as part of the binding.

I already saw it in one of the other comments, but curved piecing is something I really want to do. I want to learn more specifically about the “curved piecing presser foot or feet” that are available. Because of the cost I’m hesitant to buy one until I know more about it. Sounds like a great special feature to me!

I’d like to learn more setting ideas for my blocks. I LOVE Bonnie Hunter and her ways of making scrappy blocks and using leaders and enders to get extra blocks done. What to do with them is always a challenge. I’m finding straight sets and diagonal sets (with and without sashing) a little ho hum. HELP!

I’ve done several projects with paper piecing, but I’ve heard there is a method of paper piecing where you don’t actually sew through the paper. This would eliminate the step of having to tear off the paper and the paper could be used repeatedly. I’d like instructions in this method. Thanks!
Two things I want to learn are how to add piping and how to bind odd angle quilt projects…like hexagon shape or scalloped shaped.
