Quiltmaker is having a Back to School Party and you’re invited! Come sew with us!

Each weekday from Sept. 10 to 14, please join us here on Quilty Pleasures for a free quilt pattern in bite-size morsels, tips and techniques and giveaways galore!
The idea is to celebrate fall with a fun, easy new project. You’ll find camaraderie, guidance and inspiration each day as we work on the quilt together. The quilt is called Frame by Frame; it was designed by Diane Nagle of Peddlecar Quilts.
We knew you’d need some time to gather sewing supplies so today we’re sharing a diagram and photos of Frame by Frame along with the yardage requirements. The grayscale quilt diagram below is keyed to the fabrics in the yardage further down.
Frame by Frame
Frame by Frame is a 54″ x 72″ throw. Each block’s finished size is 9″ x 9″. Be sure that Fabric #8 contrasts adequately from the rest of the fabrics (in other words, there needs to be some difference in the lightness or darkness of #8 relative to the other fabrics so that it shows up).
Eventually you’ll also need:
Backing 3 3/4 yards (3.75 yards)
Batting 62″x 80″
Below you’ll find partial photos of seven different versions of Frame by Frame. Each photo is linked to the fabric line at that company’s website.
Use the chart below to identify the fabrics in the quilts above and to plan your own quilt.
If you wish, download and print a free chart like the one below to customize, using your own fabrics.

We’ll give you the first step of construction on Monday, Sept. 10. During the party you’ll also get to meet our team of reader-sewers, and we’ll have daily doses of learning. Plan to take photos of your quilt along the way so that we can share them with everyone and multiply the fun. I’ll see you at the party!

Looking good!!!!
Looking forward to the week of fun!
