The July/August issue of Quiltmaker is out and it’s a beauty.
This issue is partly focused on applique. No matter what your skill level or what type of applique you prefer, there’s something for you!
Maybe you’ll try your hand at Flip Floppy Flowers from Marcia Harmening. It’s fast and easy with fusible applique and ribbon “straps.” Wouldn’t this be fun in a girl’s room?
If you’re itching for some elegant hand applique, check out Sue Garman’s Fleur-de-Lis Flourish. Sue has written detailed instructions for a cut-away applique technique. Lots of photos will guide you to success.
If you need something for summer’s patriotic holidays, you might try the throw-size Old Glory from Margie Ullery. A variety of strip widths and fusible stars will bring fireworks your way in no time.
Applique: Your Way!
Maybe you’d like to make one of this issue’s applique projects but you prefer a different technique. We’ve got you covered! I wrote an article called Applique: Your Way! It explains how you can easily convert applique patterns from one technique to another.
Grab a glass of lemonade, your copy of Quiltmaker and a chair. Great reading is just ahead!

Even though I do not applique I did enjoy this issue. Have to tell you, though, my favorite page was page 50, Bonnie Hunter’s “Four-Ever Nines”! I cut1 1/2″ strips last night!
Got my issue in the mail a couple of days ago, another great one! I’ve got the Applique article earmarked, it’s very good thank you! Now if I can just find those red chairs you have outside to continue reading in:)
I really like the Fleur-de-Lis Flourish quilt. It looks like a fun hand work project to do. I also like the quilting design on this one. Have a super day!
