The town of Berthoud, CO is a small community in northern Colorado with a population of less than 10,000 people. On the third Saturday in June, the Berthoud Chamber of Commerce sponsors the Berthoud Outdoor Quilt Show and Historic Home Tour. The quilt show takes place in Fickel Park, a beautiful park with huge shade trees. It’s not too far from my home, so I took advantage of the beautiful weather and drove up with a friend to see the show. There were around 150 quilts on display, strung on lines between the trees–talk about eye candy! Here are some of the quilts for your viewing pleasure (note: I didn’t get the maker’s names for these quilts)!
There were several sampler quilts, and I was surprised to see a lot of hand quilting as well!
I love the sashing in this quilt.
Each block in this sampler was made by a different person.

After browsing the show, we walked a few blocks to the Laughing Ladies Quilting Shop. Don’t you just love the name? They were also a sponsor of the quilt show. What a fun shop full of wonderful fabric, patterns, notions and fun, all in a historic building in Berthoud.
Keep Berthoud, CO in mind if you’re in this area in June—the show and shop are not to be missed!

Beautiful quilts and fun way to have a show.
I am pretty sure the second quilt is a Whimsicals design, but all I saw on the tag was the quilter’s names, not the designer. I thought you had to list that too, when you showed a quilt?

What beautiful quilts and such a sunny day!
