I was treated to a wonderful rendition of QM’s 2012 Project Linus quilt during a meeting last week of Prairie Pioneer Quilters Guild in Grand Island, Nebraska. A gal named Roberta Seaman was kind enough to bring her Up, Up & Away quilt to the meeting. Isn’t it wonderful?!
This was especially nice for me because I was lucky enough to design this year’s block pattern. It’s kind of a thrill when someone makes the quilt!

Grosgrain ribbon attaches the hot air balloon to the basket below in Roberta's version of Up Up & Away.
Roberta wanted the blocks to go a bit more quickly, so she used grosgrain ribbon to “attach” the basket and the balloon. What a great idea! (The cables are foundation paper pieced in the original.) Thanks so much for sharing your quilt, Roberta.
