When I bought my new sewing machine many years ago, several different sewing machine feet were included. And, yes, basic instructions were included for how to use them. But I didn’t take the time to learn about them or how to incorporate decorative stitches into my quilts and other projects.
Lynda Howell, the designer behind the popular Stitch Connection patterns, has taken all the guesswork out of these feet and has created amazing designs with them. Her Snuggle Sampler was featured in 2 parts in Quiltmaker—part 1 in May/June ’10 (available as a digital issue only) and part 2 in July/August ’10 (digital issue only). Many different feet were used to create this adorable crib quilt.
Lynda will be teaching at QM‘s Block Party in Williamsburg, VA August 2-4, ’12. She will be teaching a fun class using specialty feet on your sewing machine to add decorative stitches to your projects. You will learn about bobbin work, couching and using decorative stitches for applique and more as you create Isabelle, a fusible snow lady, or fabulous flowers for a wall quilt or pillow.
We’d love to have you join us in Williamsburg at Quiltmaker’s Block Party to learn from Lynda and the other great teachers we have lined up.

I love these projects, especially the snowgirl. I would love to go to the Quiltmaker’s Block Party. Guess I’ll have to see if there’s some way to work it out.
Cute projects! If I lived on the east coast, I’d be there.
I did the baby quilt for our latest great grand daughter… didn’t do it exactly as the pattern, but pretty darned close. I loved it so much that I may have to make another one.
Your SBS is gorgeous, Lynda! Way to go geittng the centre together. I look forward to seeing it with borders on )Large quilts is a challenge to display. My SBS is hanging folded over the back of a recliner in my bedroom it’s the only place I have for it, and it really isn’t ideal Happy quilting )
I would really like to buy the pattern Stitcher’s Garden by Lynda Howell. I am not able to join a block of the month and don’t want to purchase a kit-just the pattern.
If you could help, I’d appreciate it. Thank you Diane
