You’re loving Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks! Now QM Rocks the Blocks! Today we celebrate (with 20 giveaways!) the newsstand debut of a special issue: Quilts from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks.
We’ve taken great block designs from the first four volumes of 100 Blocks and created 18 stunning quilt projects. Yes, today QM Rocks the Blocks! Lots of ways to win a copy of this beautiful issue, so please read on.
A few issue highlights we think you’ll enjoy:
Peg Spradlin has been on our team of home sewers for a few decades.
She took her block, shown above, from Volume 2 of 100 Blocks, and created this breathtaking piece featuring trapunto and freeform machine-stitched details.
The original block and the quilt above are both called Irish Spring Surprise.

Stars and Bars Sampler, designed and made by QM's 2011 Scrap Squad: Pat St-Onge, Forest Jane, Donna Amos, Kim Brandt, Linda Ferguson, Dionne Gordon, Carol Vickers and Ruth Wasmuth.
The Stars and Bars Sampler was created by QM’s 2011 Scrap Squad. They used Bar None from Volume 1, Writer’s Block from Volume 3 and Block Positive from Volume 4; they added blocks of their own to complete the center section. The beauty of this pattern is that you can use any 12″ blocks you wish in your own quilt center. How much fun would that be?!
Deanne Eisenman used her Tulip Twist block from Volume 2, above, to create a Tulip Twist quilt featuring a pieced border and simple applique, below.
Quilt legend Jackie Robinson used her Butterfly Cabin block from Volume 1 to create the Butterfly Cabin quilt below.

Butterfly Cabin, designed by Jackie Robinson, sewn by Eileen Fowler, quilted by Kim Waite. Blocks appears in Volume 1 of Quiltmaker's 100 Blocks.
Nancy Mahoney (who will teach at QM’s Block Party in Williamsburg) made Posies and Pinwheels, below, using two of her blocks. Twirling Star apppeared in Volume 1 and Posy Patch appeared in Volume 3.

Posies and Pinwheels designed and made by Nancy Mahoney. Blocks appeared in Volume 1 (#26) and Volume 3 (#239).
Monique Dillard is another designer who will teach at QM’s Block Party in Williamsburg August 2–4. Monique contributed Mezzanine to this issue, shown below. It’s made with block #162, her design for Volume 2, called Tile Works.
June Dudley is QM’s Editor-in-Chief. She used Pinwheel Pizzazz, block #374 from Volume 4, to design the Pinwheel Pizzazz quilt below.

Pinwheel Pizzazz by June Dudley, QM's Editor-in-Chief
And that’s only the beginning! You can preview the entire issue to see more projects.

I just subscribed to Quiltmaker! I often bought it off the newstand. I love piecing quilts and this issue would be such an inspirational asset! Colors, fabric, and designing are the creative outlet for me. Most of the quilts I’ve made have, have been donated for causes that benefit the less fortunate in our world. I would love to be a recipient of this issue!

Irish Spring Surprise looks like a wonderful block with a lot of potential.
It’s wonderful to see how people can look at blocks and make them their own! I feel so inspired looking at the beautiful quilts created from combining and tweaking existing blocks.

what a fabulous idea for a new mag – loved all the Blocks issues and now great to see what quilters created with them !
Inspiration comes in an 8 1/2 x 11 package called Quiltmaker. I took a Carolyn Beam hint in the new Quiltmaker mag and created two quilts for premmie twins with the Disappearing Nine Patch. I had so many great comments at our quilt retreat, three quilters want to subscribe to your magazine now.
I would love to have a copy of this magazine. I can never have too many quilt patterns.
Love the quilts

I hav all of the 100 block issues and would love to add this to my collection.
My wife is preparing for retirement and is a sponge for inspiration of the quiltological variety. I might help her piece STARS AND BARS which has a different picture that comes to mind here in Georgia. Signed by her loving fabraholic enabler.
So many beautiful quilts. I have to admit my favorite is Irish Spring Surprise. Perfect month for it.

That first quilt is stunning! And how fun to use blocks from the different volumes to creat quilts…great inspiration for us to get busy! I have 2 or 3 of those volumes…plenty to work from. Today is my birthday…I would love to be one of the winners!
I am always looking for different ways to set the blocks in a quilt. I’m sure this is going to be a very popular site today.
All the designs shown look amazing. I like the colors selected and I like to see a couple color choices for each design. I also enjoy trying new designs and this book seems like a perfect addition to my bookself!
Love these quilts! I am always looking for new quilt designs/patterns.
Fantastic!! I’m making a baby quilt right now from one of the quilt blocks in Vol. 3 – I love all the options these blocks give. Really don’t need another quilt block pattern – I’ll never get made all the ones I want made from those books!!!
I would love to win a copy of this issue of Quiltmaker.
Thanks for the chance to win your new magazine.
I love the ideas in the Collesctor’s Issue. I have all of the block volumes and getting fresh new ideas to use these fabulous blocks would be spectacular. When the volumes come out, they are snapped up very quickly in our little, tiny town, so I am always blessed to be able to get mine. Sometimes there are less than half a dozen between two stores that carry them. Winning one would be spectacular!
I am reading in my pj’s, and I must get dressed immediately! I live in a new community and will have to find a news stand that has this magazine! Wow! I wonder if I have enough time to get them all made. My kind of magazine, that’s for sure. I think the first one I will make is the Stars and Bars Sampler. I so enjoy making samplers, and I can’t wait to try this one, I think I will donate it to Quilts of Valor. Thanks for the inspiration.
SEW inspiring!!! I’m ready to get going! Thanks for the opportunity!!!
These quilts are revving up my mojo to “Go!” full throttle, especially that beautiful trapunto enriched Irish Spring Suprise. It is wonderful to have access to cover to cover inspiration like this in a magazine but I am having real trouble keeping from racing off to my sewing room right now to get started, thanks!!
This is so wonderful to see. I love the block issues, but have always wondered how to actually turn them into something. I don’t have fancy computer software and am a fairly new quilter, so this issue will definitely help me visualize what you can do with individual block patterns.
This is a great idea as I have the block mags. But sometimes have a hard time visualizing a finished quilt design. Good inspiration
Great quilts!
My favourite is ‘Irish Spring Surprise’
Thanks
I would absolutely LOVE to have a copy of this magazine
I was here! Lovely quilts! Thanks for the chance.

I love the quilts. They are fantastic. I really want a copy of this magazine. I follow Quiltmaker on Pinterest….and Quiltmaker follows me. Hugs to all
I don’t tweet or facebook or anything else, but I can leave a comment. I have just started Quilting by hand like my GrandMother use to do when my Mother was little, and also, when I was little. So,I would love a copy of this book as well, because I love the Butterfly Quilt,it reminds me of my GrandMother, and also,my Daddy, who passed away in 2003 to a massive stroke, any way I would also love any left over scrap material you may want to discontue, because I know how to recycle a little bit of old scrap material. My,Husband just went back to work after being out of work for 6months,I have learned to be thrifty, but funds are tight right now,so any thing would be of help, and you all will be truely blessed. Thank-You,very much and MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS,Cindy. again MAY GOD BLESS YOU.
This would be a great magazine to add to any quilters library. It looks like all the quilts in it are absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to get my hands on one. Thanks for the opportunity to try to get one free!
The quilts are beautiful. I have the books, my intentions are good, but as of yet not tried any of the blocks.
The quilts are beautiful and so inspiring. Thanks for this chance to win the magazine.
I love Quiltmaker and all the special issues, too.
I would like to win and I particularly like Mezzanine. Great name, great quilt.
I ‘don’t Pin, Tweet or do Facebook – I waste enough time looking at blogs and drooling over quilts!
These are beautiful. I particularly like Irish Spring surprise!
I have been a big fan of Quiltmaker for many years and recommend it to all new quilters. The Tulip Twist is my favorite – looks like it’s done in Civil War reproduction fabric. Beautiful!

Started quilting after back surgery to past the time and love it. My husband just built a quilting table from pinterest last week. Can’t wait to start using it. How a quilt can put a smile on someone face as a gift. That’s priceless and rewarding.
Gorgeous quilts and what a great idea!

Oh my gosh! I was feeling down and now I can ‘t wait to make many of these fabulous quilts! Thanks for creating something new!
This looks like one great magazine. Hope I win.
Vicki
Thanks for the giveaway!!!!
After looking at the samples I was quite taken by how the love of quilting shows. Also, it seems that a Canadian hardly ever wins in these free give aways, and I wanted to be able to show others that Canada is included in these contests, and just maybe I could proudly show of my new Quilting Book, and may be even later show of some of the quilts I made from this edition. Definitely a book worth having in my collection of sewing books. Hope I win, if I do, it will definitely make my day.
I’ve been looking at this book with envy since I first heard it came out. I LOVE the pattern ‘Amazed’ and the story of how the pattern was created by Camille Roskelley and the colors just sparkle. There are patterns here for all levels and that makes it the best book ever in my humble opinion!
Wonderful quilts. I’d love to have this issue. Irish Spring Surprise is delightful. And Mezzanine, too.
I love my issue of 100 blocks. This one with ideas to move ahead is great!
I love looking at all the beautiful things in the magazines. Problems with my arms is keeping me from doing all the quilt making I want to do, but I can still look and dream! I would dearly love to have the magazine and maybe use when my arms do permit me to make something!!
Thanks for the opportunity. I would love to win this magazine.
Wonderful quilts! I love the butterfly cabin! thanks for the giveaway!
Beautiful designs!! I’m seriously coveting Irish Spring Surprise and Posies and Pinwheels, so I obviously must get my hands on this issue.
I love the concept of a magazine showing how to combine blocks to create stunning new patterns. It took years for me to be able to look at a pattern and “see” it in different colors, so having a magazine that also helps those of us who may have difficulty “seeing” a quilt when flipping thru a publication that just features blocks. Love it!
I really like the Mezzanine but I would also love to make the Posies and Pinwheels, and the Batik Tulip Twist looks like such fun, oh, heck I just want to make them all! Thanks for the opportunity to win one of the magazines.
Love all of your publications. Thanks for another winner!
I’ve been trying to stay away from buying magazines because I can’t sew fast enough…BUT I think I’ll buy this issue as a St. Patty’s day gift for myself. I can’t refuse a gift! LOL
Love the Posies & Pinwheels and the Irish Spring Surprise!!
I like to create my own patterns but I get great ideas from your magazine. Thank you very much.
I love seeing the blocks made up into quilts. My favorite is Irish Spring Surprise. It has piecing and applique which makes for a great combination!
i quess i will have to go to town or my sewing center and pick this up… i really like when there are so many designs, and you can mix them up too.
Love all the blocks pictured – especially Irish Spring Surprise.
Outstanding! What a treat to see these outstanding blocks in a quilt. Thanks for the opportunity to win this magazine. Fashionista would be fun to make!
There are so many beautiful quilts-which one will I do next?
I am fairly new to quilting and am addicted to it. I can’t wait to get home to my machine every evening. Can’t wait to get this issue of 100 Blocks. I love looking at the patterns and just don’t have enough time to make all the quilts that I fall in love with.
Enjoy your website also. Keep your stitches straight.
Sincerely,
Rhonda Wood

I love the Tulip Twist and want to make that one right away! Each one of the quilts is charming and I can’t wait to buy the magazine.
Donna Wauer
My fingers are already itching to do “Mezzanine.” It’s just so elegant and the color combo calls my name.
Ever since I heard about this issue coming out, I have been looking forward to getting it! Win one or buy one either way it is a “must have” companion and a great addition to my “100 Blocks” library of issues! Thanks for the chance to win one!
Those blocks are beautiful!!!
I love the Irish Chain Surprise and the Log Cabin Butterfly. I would love to have a copy of this book!
I sometimes have difficulty visualizing how block combinations will work together. I can’t wait to see the combinations in this new magazine!
I would love to win a copy and try some of those new blocks
I’m sorry but I don’t Tweeter or Pin. But if I did promise I would be going on and on about the quilts above. I love them all but the ones I will definitely be making are Iris Spring Surprise, Butterfly Cabin and Pinwheel Pizzazz, these three just look so inviting to be cuddled with! I sure hope I win but if not I will go on a hunting spree to find this magazine to purchase it so either way I guess I do win. LOL Good Luck Everyone…I wish we could all win! lol
Pick me…..pick me…..yoooooohooooo….waving madly….over here!!!
What a fantastic idea! That first one by Peg is stunning in its simplicity and color and looking special with its applique. I’d love to win a copy!

Love the quilts they made with the blocks. Would love to win
This looks like a great magazine! Thanks for the chance to win. I recently made a baby quilt using a block from one of the issues of 100 Blocks and I loved it. A baby quilt is a great way to get familiar with a new block. Plus I was able to donate the quilt to charity and that makes me happy.
CAN’T WAIT FOR YOUR NEW ISSUE TO COME OUT. MARCH6,2012
I would love a copy of this magazine. So many wonderful blocks to make.

Congrats with this issue, the blocks have been taken to great pieces! Stunning results & inspiration contained within. Would love to win this magazine …. pick me, I’m ready start a new project!
Making new from old is a very good thing! I would enjoy having free access! Thanks!
Butterflies, “looks easy” flowers, and “blocks on point” Mezzanine style, OH MY! This would be a wonderful book to have as a quick project go-to book. Love my Quiltmaker magazine!
oooh! great inspiration for quilters.
Wow, those quilts look amazing! Thanks so much!
I’m just learning how to quilt, in hopes of being able to make a quilt for each of my grandchildren. I would love to have this magazine to add to my “stash” of quilting ideas. A free copy would be fantastic!
I love these designs! I can immediately see lots of possibilities for the wonderful fabrics in my stash (or, more accurately, my fabric warehouse) to make some fabulous new quilts!
After reading and looking through this wonderful QM seqment, my eyes got as far as Peg Spradlins, Irish Spring Surprise. While I love to quilt, and can do many things, but I always seem to hesitate when I see something that I fear I cannot do. But when I looked at Peg’s, I realized that I can do this. What a beautifully made quilt with sweet simplicity. While it would be lovely to win a copy of this book, I am sure that I will just have to buy it.. as my luck never falls the way I would like it. But I think the book is more then worth it.
I really enjoy these 1oo block magazines. I’m excited to try making a quilt using several of the blocks combined into one quilt. Your directions are always easy to follow and a delight to make. Pick me, please!
I picked this issue up at my Grocery store this past week-end. It was so bright and colorful, I had to bring it home. Lookign forward to Volume 5!
The quilts from the blocks are so lovely. This magazine would be such an inspiration.
I don’t tweet or pin, either. Would love a chance to win. I have been a big fan of the Quiltmaker magazine over 30 years!
So many good ideas. I am always looking for new, inspiring ideas. Thanks for this new publication.
I love the chain reaction quilt, not too complicated for a beginner like me but you can really make a statement with colors!
Very nice. I have 3 of the for mags. Nice of you to give so many away!
The quilts above look great. Lots of inspiration in the pages.
I have been receiving Quilt Maker magazine for many years now and just love it. It is my favorite magazine and I have given up getting other subscriptions in order to keep getting this one. You know, money and all.
I would love to receive the free 100 Blocks magazine as there are so many patterns that look interesting to do and I would love the inspiration this magazine would bring.
Thanks,
Jennifer
I don’t tweet or pin, but would LOVE to get this book! I need some inspiration for creating new quilts. The pictures are just so pretty and it’s great to see how people put different things together. That’s the help I need!
Love the spring colors and ideas. Will be looking for this issue on the newstand.
All the 100 quilt block editions offer so much inspiration, it’s going to be exciting to see how that inspiration turned into actual quilts! How fun! Thanks for the giveaways!
Would love to win a copy. All the quilts shown are so lovely!
The cover quilts are fabulous … can’t wait to see the rest!
Wow I love all the block projects. I especially love the Irish Spring. If I win, I would make that quilt for my daughter and son-in-law. They honeymooned in Ireland in June of 2006. Had a wonderful time and planning to revisit this year for their anniversary between their 5th and 6th.
Hope I can win but if not will take this pattern to fabric soon. Thanks for this opportunity. Happy Day!!
Like the combining of blocks for some new ideas, and always like inclusion of some applique to add that extra element. Not so fond of the themed patterns like the “Freedom” one. Overall nice job
I am busy doing Hidden Star from Vol 3 which is the only one that came to South Africa. I would love to get my hands on this issue as we are starved here for decent quilting magazines. It would be truely a collectors edition. Love Quiltmaker’s and have done quite a few of the quilts from them – here to holding thumbs.
The Irish Spring quilt is very pretty. Now I’m going to browse through the rest of the issue. Thanks!
The quilts are beautiful. Love the Irish spring surprise and the Mezzanine quilts.
I “pinned” the posey quilt to my board because it’s so pretty. Very creative issue.
I have been delighted with Quiltmaker’s 100 blocks since they first came out and have made several of the blocks from each magazine. What a wonderful new way to get creative with the blocks. What fun!
I am new to quilting and can only hope to achieve such wonderful results.
Ooooh, this issue looks wonderful! Lots to play with!
Thank you so much for creating this wonderful and inspiring selection of quilts just in time for spring! I particularly like Mezzanine. Thank you once again.

Would love to win that magazine. Such brightness for spring.
I can’t wait to get a copy of this magazine. Having new options for the quilt blocks from the other magazines will be great and give so many more ideas.

It would be very difficult to choose my favorite. I love the new twists on vintage patterns. This book is on the top of my Wish List!
I don’t tweet, but I’ll leave a comment here. Looking at the patterns in this magazine, I’m amazed! There are so many quilting magazines that have the same old patterns in it. It’s not very often I get excited about a certain magazine to actually buy it and start on one of the patterns, but this one has a whole lot of beautiful quilts that I want to make. These are absolutely gorgeous.
I’m always looking for a new quilt pattern and there are a few here I’d like to try. I’d love to win the 100 Quiltblocks book.

Love the quilts! I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to win this. All of the 100 blocks volumes were on my Christmas list, but Santa didn’t come through for me. I don’t think I’ll be able to hold out for the Easter Bunny!
What fun! Just what I need to get me from admiring the blocks in the magazine to making them into a quilt we can use and love.
Love the blocks and hope I win. I work full time and only get about two quilts done a year. You sure make it hard to pick the next project!
Looking forward to seeing this magazine on the store shelf. So far |I like what I have seen and would like to see more. I hope I am a winner, then I will have to gift a copy to a friend because I will be buying it.

I don’t Tweet nor Pin so I am left with one option and that is to comment. I would love to win a copy of this magazine. I would love to add it to my collection of quilting magazines for my studio library. I wish I had the time and money to qult all of the patterns I just love in these magazines. But I still have a good thirty years before I won’t be able to quilt anymore. And Who knows maybe my granddaughter will make good use of my library of quilt patterns. Love the magazine!

These blocks made beautiful quilts. Thanks for the giveaway.
I would like to have a copy of the new Quiltmaker magazine with quilts made from the 100 Blocks book. I am an intermediate quilter and sometimes I like something challenging, however, I love simple designs with remarkable fabrics. My daughters and I all love quilting and sometimes quilt together on the same project. One daughter is a Fine Arts designer and loves symbolism. The other uses her sewing machine like a pro and turns out quilts in record time. The three of us would find good use for your magazine. I am a subscriber to Quiltmaker magazine.
Since this is my birthday month, wouldn’t this make a nice present ?? I think so too !
Love these quilts made with the blocks!

I can not wait to get everything set up to quilt again and have been going to a store and getting everything I can afford. Having a Tramatic Brain Injury does not help the effort but getting better all the time!!!!!

Have been way too busy to quilt this past 6 months (boy do I miss it). Looking over some of the samples posted has given me some inspiration to get back with it. Winning the new book would be a great excuse for me to make time to get back to my “stress reliever”..quilting. Keep up the great work. I look forward to my magazine every month.

Inspiration takes on many forms – whether it is just looking at a quilt block, the look and feel of a fabric, the overall design of a quilt. I often find my inspiration when reading QuiltMaker, where I know quality is the standard. This issue will give me at least 100+ ideas to continue the ever learning process that is tied to quilting. Thank you for the opportunity.
I was definitely here……and would love to win this book…the quilts are lovely.
