What’s a Blog Tour?

joinforblogtour4 2001 Whats a Blog Tour? If you’ve never been on a blog tour, you may be wondering what all the fuss is about. Since Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour is next week, Nov. 7 to 11, this seems like a good time to explain how it works.

Volume 4 of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks goes on sale Nov. 15, and the blog tour is to expose you to all the fun aspects of this issue as the time draws near. Sometimes these events are called blog “hops,” which is more descriptive of what actually happens.

Each day we’ll share a post featuring links to several designers’ blogs from 100 Blocks, and you can hop from one blog to another. Each designer will share a little something about her or his design: what inspired it, how to use it or ways to vary it. Each blog will have a giveaway of the issue so you’ll have many, many chances to win!

(You’ll want to visit their websites for more giveaway opportunities.) Each of three daily prize bundles will include a copy of 100 Blocks, a much-coveted 100 blocks mug and more.

You’ll get sneak previews of some of the blocks each day. This always gets the creative juices flowing!

How fun! I’ve been collecting these magazines ever since I saw the first one. It came out about the time I was learning to quilt and I thought it would be an amazing tool for me to use as I grow as a quilter. Now, I’ve used several of the blocks for swaps and quilts. Keep up the good work.!

  19. Nancy says:

I am a self-taught quilter, and I am excited about your blog tour. Where do I go, and how to I get the blog?? Thanks
