Several months ago, we announced on Facebook that we were looking for QM readers to work on a one-time project for us. We got a great response, and it’s been my pleasure to work with the six women we selected as the Back to School Sewing Team. I’m happy to introduce them to you, one each day, as part of the QM Back to School Party.

Today I’m happy to introduce to you Patricia Szymanski from Exeter, New Hampshire. Pat offers a popular “Quilter’s Tip Of The Day” on Facebook, and invites you to visit Log Home Quilting there.
Pat sewed with Saturday Afternoon fabrics by Jane Spolar for Northcott.
Pat shares about her Back to School sewing experience.
Working with the “Back to School Party” sewing team was truly a wonderful experience! We shared our progress within a special group we formed on Facebook. By doing this our team enjoyed making warm friendships that we plan to continue…and we’re already brainstorming our next group project!
Dozens of Daisies in Saturday Afternoon fabrics by Jane Spolar for Northcott. Quilt made by Patricia Szymanski.
I found Dozens of Daisies to be a fun and easy pattern to follow. One challenge that I faced was not with the pattern, but working with the first border fabric. The strips have a wonky, wavy flow going on which made it tricky to piece. After some fidgeting I decided to approach it as I would an appliqued piece and then I was able to blend in the seam within the flow of the waves.
Every conversation with Pat has been a delight. She’s one of those people it’s just a pure pleasure to know. Many thanks from QM to Pat for her work on this project.

Love thse fabrics! Wow, think it is time to visit a quilt store and see if they have them!
A great quilt! I love the fabrics you have choosen to make it so lovely. The green behind the daisy petals looks just right. Will have to look into some of this fabric.
Pat has great tips that she posts on Facebook (as mentioned above). If you’re a quilter, you will really find them handy and informative!
Really good to see the different colour combinations in the same pattern. I appreciate the struggle that border fabric might have been. Congratulations on succeeding beautifully Pat.
Very different color pattern but like a basket full of flowers all quilts work out beutifully.
Very pretty quilt Patricia. Love the fabrics.
The quilt is quite pretty. Thanks for the introduction to this fabric collection as it is lovely.
I really like the fabrics in your quilt. Purple and green are two of my favorite
colors and the border fabric print really adds to the daisy theme of this quilt design.
