QM Facebook Fun

Social media, such as Facebook, has really become a huge part of how society interacts with one another. We reconnect with old friends, stay in touch with family, support favorite causes or follow companies that we like.

Here at Quiltmaker, we have been working really hard to make our Facebook page someplace that you can find inspiration, stay informed about interesting things in the quilting world, learn about Quiltmaker contests, online extras and generally just have a good time! We’ve been updating our pictures so you can see blocks that appear in Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Vol. 3 (on sale now!). Our profile picture better reflects our visual style and highlights what’s new at QM.

We want you to connect with us and with fellow quiltmakers. Tell us what you are working on, what inspires you, what you’d like to see in future issues. Post your pictures of what you’re making or have finished from Quiltmaker patterns. Share tips. Ask questions. Report information. Let’s have some fun!

We have also added free content for those who LIKE us on Facebook. See that item Free Motifs! listed in the left hand column? (if not, you will need to click the LIKE button at the top of the page). If you click on Free Motifs! you will be able to download 3 free quilting motifs.

Some Blogger’s websites don’t provide a method for feedback/comments as I am a non-blogger. I’ve tried using “OpenID” and it doesn’t work and none of the other alternatives seem applicable. I guess someone needs to contact “Google” if they are the source for the website and explain that they need to provide an alternative for those who wish to comment but are not bloggers and only have an (not gmail) email account. I don’t know how to go about doing this or I would. Some websites, but not all, provide and anonymous category which I have used and then I provide my email address.

  3. I’m extremely impressed with your writing talents and also with the format on your weblog. Is that this a paid subject matter or did you customize it yourself? Either way keep up the nice quality writing, it is rare to look a nice blog like this one nowadays..

Our quilt guild, Sugar Creek Quilters in Crawfordsville, IN, makes quilts for our local cancer center to be given to patients having chemotherapy. We have a “block-of-the-month” activity in which one member provides a pattern. Guild members make blocks and bring them to the next guild meeting. The original quilter then assembles the blocks into a quilt. The guild furnished batting and backing and some member or the guild quilts them, then they are given the the cancer center. We call it our “Quilts for Hope” project.

My recommendation would be more giveaways on blogs sponsored by Quiltmaker.
