The Debbie Caffrey mystery quilt-along, Secret Window, is just getting under way with part 1 in our May/June ’11 issue. I wanted to share my fabric choices with you. I’m working with Bella by Possibilities for Quilting Treasures.
We’re calling it the “spa” version because the palette is so calm and soothing. These are the colors in the quilt I made for our bedroom so I thought this would be a perfect accent. I like the variety in the scale of the designs on the different fabrics. I’m drawn to stripes, and the stripe in this collection seems to tie all the fabrics together. I can’t wait to see the finished result!
My part 1 blocks and units are done. On to part 2.

I’ve started the mystery too. Dug into my stash of Batiks and am using greens, gold/tan, orange and blues. Have a few more 4-patches to put together. Then will have to anxiously await the next issue of Quiltmaker.
I just read my new issue with the start of the mystery quilt. I’m going to my stash closet right now to pull fabrics. I don’t have a clue as to what I’ll come up with for a color scheme, this should be interesting!
Love Debbie Caffrey’s mystery quilts! My quilt group does one of hers every year. Can’t wait to start this one.
Just finished my pieces from part I and can’t believe my stash was so well supplied I didn’t have to shop- drats! But it was exciting to have on hand some nice colors. Looking forward to part II.
