Designers and quilt-related companies have donated fabulous prizes for next week’s 100 Blocks Blog Tour, which leads up to the appearance of Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks Volume 3. This issue will be in shops and on newsstands by May 10 and we know you’re going to love it. How about a peek at some of the prizes, perks and pretties that could soon be yours?
I’ve enjoyed looking at The Gentle Art of Quiltmaking by Jane Brocket. C&T Publishing sent five copies for next week’s giveaways. I love the way the author thinks. Here is a favorite quote from a section on fabric decisions:
“The best way to make good, true decisions is to go browsing when you are looking for nothing in particular and therefore not under pressure. This is when the fabrics you truly love catch your eye and seduce you…This is when you need to trust your instincts; I regret very few impulse purchases of stunning fabrics I have found when not looking for anything specific, because I have bought them for all the right reasons and subsequently loved using them.”
On every page I find a nugget of wisdom from Jane Brocket, such as this about knowing when to stop:
“…when you are seriously out of fabric, time or energy, can’t face any more cutting out and sewing together, and want to move onto the next stage…Remember that quilting is meant to be fun and enjoyable, not a penance.”
Lovely, interesting photography makes every page a pleasure. Our thanks to C&T for partnering with us in this way.
On the fabric end of things, things are looking good, too. Here’s a bundle of Coquette–Earth & Sky by Carina Gardner, sent by Northcott.
And a lovely gift basket of Amanda Murphy’s Swiss Chocolate from Robert Kaufman.
Red Rooster shipped these prints from the Papillon collection by Jessica Gonacha Swift.
And that’s not all—you’ll see more of the quilty treasures next week when you come back for the blog tour. There will be chances to win every day on our site and on the designers’ sites, too. You’ll find ideas and inspiration that will have you sewing in no time!

This sounds like a lot of fun. Could someone tell me how it works. The prizes are wonderful. I know I will be getting the book when it comes out on the 10th. Thanks Lisa.
I am so excited, I can hardly wait
Great idea
You are really tempting us with lots of goodies! I’m looking forward to seeing all the fun, new ideas for blocks.
Well, I just finished 2 quilts in the last two weeks, and cut up a bunch of odds and ends to sew with kids this weekend. My stash is a little empty again.

Great prizes, great fun!
The prizes look great and I sure could use any of them to create with the new block in Vol 3
I love the opportunity to check out all the new blocks. Now I just need to organize some time to try out some of them.
