Would the promise of fun prizes motivate you to post quilt photos online? We hope so! Quiltmaker is happy to announce the launch of First Friday Show & Tell! Doesn’t this sound like fun?!

Our Show & Tell will be held in the Show & Tell Gallery of our community site at Quilters Club of America. Registering at QCA is fast and free and gives you access to loads of fun, free, quilty content! You’ll be able to learn and share and grow and make new friends!

Here is a step-by-step guide to Quiltmaker’s First Friday Show & Tell.

  1. Snap photos of quilts you’ve made from Quiltmaker patterns.
  2. Register (free) at Quilters Club of America.
  3. First create a gallery with your photo by following these instructions; complete the process and be sure to tag your photo! Under “Select Tags” go to QCA Fun (last category) and check “Quiltmaker Show & Tell.” Be sure to select other tags that apply to your quilt to help people find them when they’re searching.
  4. In the comments section, you can give the pattern and designer names, plus the issue info.

Each photo of a Quiltmaker quilt you’ve made that is posted and tagged gives you one chance to win great prizes like magazines, fabric bundles and new quilting books. We’ll remind you of First Friday every month, but anything you post during that month makes you eligible to win. You can’t go wrong!

What projects could you post? Have you made something from Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks? Have you quilted using any of our quilting motif books or EQ CDs? Have you gifted something made from a classic QM pattern? The possibilities are endless. We can’t wait for First Fridays. We can’t wait to see what you’ve been making!

What have people posted in these first few hours? Take a peek here!

If you have questions, please direct them to editor@quiltmaker.com. Start snapping! April’s First Friday is only 10 days away!

I, too, love scrap quilts the best. I quilt for charity with the Firehouse
Quilters in Highlands Ranch, CO and am very happy to have found this group
since it gives me the opportunity to do something I love and hope that someone else will love one of my creations. We do mostly children’s quilts, which are small enough to be manageable and fast enough so we don’t get bored. I am looking forward to looking at more of Bonnie’s blocks and dig into my scrap basket.
I have loved quilts since I was little and napped at my grandmother’s house on her Grandmother’s Flower Garden quilt. I would try to find all the matching pieces. I don’t know what ever happened to that quilt , but I did love it.

Is this Quiltmaker specific or patterns from the Quiltmaker family of magazines? I’m thinking specifically of your Quilting & Embroidery magazine.

      Kathi,
Great question! We would be happy to have you post pictures from Quiltmaker’s Quilting & Embroidery, as well as any other titles from QM such as 100 Blocks, Quiltmaker’s All-Time Favorites and Quiltmaker’s Small Quilts. We’ll look forward to what you can share!
