Jane used a cup from her childhood as inspiration for her block design. Isn’t it adorable?
Like so many of the designers, Jane generously donated a prize for our giveaways, but her donation is unique so we’d like to award it to someone willing and able to take full advantage of it.
Jane’s donation is literally “A Day in the Country.” This is a one-day event held each year in a lovely country garden setting with original 1870’s homestead buildings near Bozeman. It’s a beautiful outdoor setting with wish-you-were-here views of the Rocky Mountains on the horizon and lush gardens all around.
The 2011 Day in the Country will be August 19 and the theme will be “Homesteading.” Four mini-classes will be held on the property. Jane says, “Participants move to and from the back porch on our shop and home, shady locations in the garden and in the front lawn. It’s all fun, relaxed and very inspiring—both the projects and site.”
A delicious lunch will complement the Homesteading theme. The food, the fun, the friendship and of course the shopping opportunities make it sound like a heavenly time! The prize is admission/tuition; please note that transportation and lodging are not included.
Have you been wanting a “girls trip” with your quilting friends? This would be perfect. Or maybe you just need a getaway with your husband: see Jane’s list entitled “The Quilt Widower’s Guide to Bozeman: 10 Things to Do While Your Wife is at Quilting in the Country.” Anyone who tags along with you will not be bored!
If you could be in Montana on August 19 for this event, please leave a comment on this post by noon MST on Friday, Dec. 3. We’ll choose one lucky winner to enjoy “A Day in the Country” with Jane. The prize is for admission/tuition; transportation and lodging are not included. A winner has been selected and is being confirmed. We’ll announce it here when confirmation is complete. The winner is Dorothy Dishman, who left comment #28. Congratulations, Dorothy and thanks to everyone who played along.
Please note: the Homesteading theme will be continued on August 20 with a quilt display; this display is concurrent with a quilt show at a cultural center in Bozeman. So (sew) much to see and do!
