QM’s Sept/Oct ’09 Color Option Giveaway

Our Sept/Oct ’09 issue started shipping from the printer yesterday. That means it will begin to arrive in subscriber mailboxes soon. I wonder what part of the U.S. will get their issues first? We haven’t received our initial copies yet in the office. It’s scheduled to be on newsstands by August 11. In the meantime, QM staff is getting all the web pages ready to launch by the end of this week.

When you get your issue, you’ll notice in my edit letter that I’m giving away a 45.5″ x 45.5″ color option!

It’s from the Shining Star pattern, designed by Joyce Robinson. Our color option uses Cambridge Square, a Quest for a Cure fabric by Ro Gregg for Northcott, plus fabric for the binding and backing.

How do you get a chance to win? It’s simple–just leave a comment here mentioning your favorite project in the Sept/Oct ’09 issue by 12 noon Mountain time on Friday, October 2. I’ll use random.org to select one winner. Good luck everyone!

Update: Our initial box of first-bound copies arrived in the office Friday 7/24. I think magazines should be starting to arrive for some subscribers soon. Most of our web pages for the issue are live now, although we still have a few to post.

Update #2: This giveaway is closed–Congratulations to Vickie #126.

Desparately looking for Quiltmaker’s September/October 2009 Any Witch Way quilt pattern. Can anyone help. I have tried Quiltmaker directly and gave up after 3 months of snafus and excuses. Your help is appreciated.

  3. sally says:

getting ready for retreat and looking for a new fat quarter game to play. Anybody got a good one?? email me with details. Thanks!!

  4. Ardith Sudduth says:

I like the Shining Heart pattern. It shows off wonderful Batiks in a very visible pattern. What a great idea– and not too difficult for me because I am always in a “hurry” and like projects that can be completed fairly quickly and quilted with as much or little quilting as I have time.

  5. Cathie Marohn says:

Okay, so I’m a dolt. Let’s go with the Sept./Oct. 2009 issue (not the 2004 issue–yes I have them all). Any Witch Way is by far the cutest quilt ever! I’m soooo embarassed!!

  6. Cathie Marohn says:

I’d love to win your color option quilt. My faborite pattern in the Sept/Oct ‘op issue is Turtle Stampede–so colorful and fun!

    Christmas Lights is my favorite.

  8. Vickie says:

So many possibilities with Winding Roads……..looks like it’s in the running to be our next church raffle quilt. thanks for the great magazine!

  9. Hattie Scorof says:

I’m collecting fabrics and printing foundations for Great Ball of Fire! We just finished up our quilt show so now to make more for next year’s show! My favorite color is blue and I love this collection of fabrics. Thank you for sharing.

  10. This is my first issue and it is great . My favorite project is Autum Dreams.

  11. My first issue- The Page 34 Autum Dreams is my favorite project.

  12. Mary Louise says:

Great issue! My favorite pattern was “Argyle Revisited” — I am really drawn to very graphic designs. Thanks for all the good work your team puts out!.

  13. Pam says:

I love receiving the Quiltmaker magazine. I read it cover to cover when it arrives. This issue I got busy with Christmas Light quilt by Bonnie Hunt.

  14. Vivian says:

Just picked up the September issue today. I really liked the Winding Road quilt — I love scrap quilts. But I also was attracted to the abstract design of Aspen Grove. I like the wallhanging option shown on the website and thought it could be fun to try interpreting the colors to reflect different seasons.

Since I don’t have any monochromatic quilts planned, it would be fun to win the blue Shining Star color option quilt since it is not something I would normally make yet still satisfies my “scrappy” preference.

  15. Mac Kay says:

It’s gotta be “Any Witch Way” in the current issue.
I love the blue color option. Very, very nice.

  16. Betty Domal says:

My favorite pattern in the Sep/Oct ’09 “Quiltmaker” is Any Witch Way…the colors are beautiful. When I look at the center of the quilt I don’t see the hats, but when I look at each witch face I can see the hat even without having to turn the page. It’s very interesting how Marilyn Larson figured that out. I love “Quiltmaker” and have been a subscriber for many years..

Awesome quilt! Love all the quilts that are in the issue!

  19. Debra Smith says:

Too bad I have to pick just one…..I love all of them. The one I may make soon will probably be Any Witch Way. I was born on Oct. 30th, and we like to do up the house for fall and Halloween. The grandsons want football themed quilts.

  20. Darlene Leahy says:

I alway look forward to getting my Quiltmaker magazine. The Shining Star pattern is one of my favorites in this issue. It is hard to pick just one. Each month there is something new to learn.

  23. Suzanne Brinton says:

My favorite pattern this issue is “Great Balls of Fire”. I’ve been looking for pattern to try out foundation piecing and I believe I have found the unique pattern to give it a try. Thank to Eilene Fowler. Suzanne Brinton

  24. Karen K says:

If I want to keep it for myself, the quilt I’m making will be blue. Any other colors I can give away. I like the Winding Road pattern to help bust some of my stash.

  25. Brenda Hinkemeyer says:

    Great Ball of Fire.

  26. Karen in Breezy Point says:

Love the blue color option–that’s my color!

  27. Janice L. Graziano says:

I have started taking my quilty magazines apart and just keeping some of my favorites out of each issue – such as quilting designs and quilt patterns. The quilt patterns I pulled out of the Sep/Oct. Issue are: Winding Road, Shining Star, and Great Ball of Fire. Great Ball of Fire is my favorite – I have never done a Pineapple Block, much less one that is off-center. It has a Storm at Sea feel but with so much move movement. I need a new challenge.

  28. Sandra says:

Any Witch Way! Love your magazine and look forward to each issue!

  29. starshine16 says:

I hope to make the To The Rescue quilt. I have 5 grandsons. My son their father, is a volunteer fireman. I also like the Any Witch Way and may try to make it in reds for my Red Hat Sisters.

  30. Cathy says:

    Would love to win!!

  31. ayl says:

The “Shining Star” quilt would be perfect for my daughter’s new blue bedroom! It’s my favorite project this issue, followed by “Great Ball of Fire”. Wow! In reality, I’m most likely to make “To the Rescue” as I love making quilts for babies and kids. Thanks for the chance to win.

  32. Ann Dent says:

I love, love, love Great Ball of Fire, and Earth, Wind and Water is a very close second. Great Ball of Fire is a “must do” for me.
I also like Shining Star and am thinking about this pattern for lap quilts for my mom and her two buddies at the nursing home for Christmas gifts. I would love to win this blue one! That would leave only two to make.
