I am finishing two minatures I made this week. First ones I have made. They are both strip quilted. One has sashing the other does not. They are for a guild project. I have enjoyed making them but, ready to get on to another project.

I have made one paper pieced minature quilt using 30's inspired fabric. I finished it like a bound quilt and it hangs proudly in my upper hallway. It will be lonely as I don't think I will be making any more minatures or any more paper pieced projects. Drove me crazy!! LOL

I, too, saw the real thing, and it's even more beautiful than in the photo! Can't say I'm as inspired as Robin is to make a mini, but you never know....Especially because of the fabrics and colors, it reminded me of a framed antique block.

I had the privilege of seeing this in person today and it is awesome! What a fabulous way to use scraps from a special project. I am so glad I saved all of the half square triangle "trimmings" from my Twist and Twirl quilt. Your project has inspired me to try something miniature. Thanks!

my goodness, you're fast, Carolyn!
I made a miniature after taking a class with George Siciliano last year at Quilt Colorado. His technique uses foundation fabric so the quilt is stiff enough to hang without having to put it into a frame. It's got a Southwestern color scheme so it lives in my camper in Arizona in the winter. A picture of the result is on my website.
