Thanks everyone for your comments and opinions! So it unanimous, the ‘eyes’ have it. I will definitely post a picture of the finished quilt (hopefully this summer before she heads to college!) Stay tuned to see what I’m using for the big background squares in this colorful Lone Star…

I’m with the majority. I love the demon eyes. Maybe you should just think of it as all of you “keeping your eye on her”.

I like version one too — the stripes on the 2nd version are too similar to the center fabric for me.

I like the first lonestar better. They don’t look like eyes to me and I don’t like the stripes going in the same direction on both of the rounds.

The ‘eye’ appearance reduced once the star was pieced. Did you consider cutting the ‘eye’ fabric more on the bias so the stripes in the fabric are at an angle instead of straight ? But that might fight with the stripes in the fabrics on either side…. so many choices, so little time. Aloha, Jo
