Progress!
I made some big changes in my life last year, so when 2009 rolled around, I set some major goals for myself. One of them is to complete at least 12 UFOs (that’s quilter lingo for UnFinished Objects). It will barely make a dent, but it will be a start. You have to eat the elephant one bite at a time.
I finished a little 12″ x 15″ wall quilt this week. It will be gifted to my cousin’s daughter in Nebraska for graduation. It’s called “Happy.”
- “Happy” is 12″ x 15″
I painted the fabric with Jacquard paints, then stamped over the paint, did some simple thread painting and beaded a bit. I referred back to Quiltmaker’s May/June ‘08 issue for simple beading instructions. I also love C&T’s All-in-One Beading Buddy, which by the way is greatly on sale.
It feels great to move some projects into the finished pile. I am loving it!

What a great goal. 12 quilts moved from the UFO pile to finished pile. There is no way I could match that, so I’m going to start with one little elephant and attempt to get one project done this summer.
One of these days I’m going to just let go, abandon the traditional quilt style for once and try something artsy (which is what I consider fabric painting). I have a lot to live up to, with my sister being Trese Eisinger.
