Quiltmaker Reader Design Contest

1 people love this

We invite you to submit original quilt designs or variations of traditional patterns to our ongoing quilt design contest. Successful designs will appeal to a significant group of quiltmakers. They can range in difficulty from easy to challenging. Their patches should fit on one or two magazine pages.

A computer printout or a colored drawing of your design on graph paper is all we need. You may also send a jpg, tiff or pdf via email.
If you have made a quilt from your original design, please send a photograph.

Mail your entry to Quiltmaker Design Contest, 741 Corporate Circle, Suite A, Golden, CO 80401; send email to cbeam@creativecraftsgroup.com.

Review

Submissions are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Finalists will be notified. Finalists’ designs will be considered for future issues.

A design that is not accepted will be returned if a self-addressed stamped envelope has been included. One envelope may be used for multiple submissions.

Finalists

If your design is chosen, you will be sent a permission form with questions about the origin of the design and any prior publication rights. Because we strive to balance theme, color and pattern complexity within each issue, the coloring or setting of your design may be changed. If you have also submitted a photo of a finished quilt from this design, we may ask if the quilt can be sent to us for in-house photography. If it is scheduled for publication, we will also request a color photo of you and a brief statement about the design.

Payment and Recognition

You will be paid for a design that is published and you will receive design credit wherever the design appears. If you furnish a finished quilt that is used in Quiltmaker, an additional amount will be paid.

Please direct questions to Carolyn Beam at 303 215 5606; cbeam@creativecraftsgroup.com.

Design submissions
I e-mailed an EQ design with jpg of the real quilt on April 11, almost 6 weeks ago, but never heard back. Do you at least send "sorry, but not suitable at this time?" No response at all is ... rude.
