Get the Jan/Feb '10 digital issue for instructions to make the Old Kentucky Album block, Bonnie-style! This block uses 2" strips to make blocks that are approximately 8 1/2"x 8 1/2". Notice how the blocks in the quilt below look different depending on the values of the red and blue scraps.

Bonnie set her blocks into this 6 x 7 setting with 2 1/2" sashes and cornerstones. The inner blue border is 2". The pieced border is 4" made from 2 red strips that are each 1" wide with a 2" print between. The outer blue border is 2". The star blocks in the corners are 8". Note that these dimensions are all the finished size.
