Moth in the Window |

Bust your stash of recycled fabric.
Instructions to make the 8" Moth in the Window block can be found in Bonnie Hunter's Addicted to Scraps column in the November/December ‘11 issue of Quiltmaker.
For a 52” x 62” quilt (as shown), you will need 30 Moth in the Window blocks, 42 4-patches for the cornerstones and 71 rectangles for sashes. To make a 4-patch cut 2 1-1/2” squares from 2 different fabrics. Sew the squares together. Repeat to make 42 4-patches. Cut 71 2-1/2” x 8-1/2” rectangles for the sashing strips.
Sew 6 4-patches and 5 rectangles together for the sash rows. Sew 5 Moth in the Window blocks and 6 rectangles together to make the rows. Sew the rows together as shown.
