re: Quilting & Embroidery
Keep your eyes peeled. Our latest edition of Quilting & Embroidery should be in the quiltshops and on newsstands March 9th!
quilting and embroidery
What has happened to Quilting and Embroidery? I love that magazine and hope to see it soon!
Pattern is Correct
Please read the cutting list carefully. It instructs to cut B's from 7 1/4" squares cut once diagonally. The illustration shows how to cut the C patches, by cutting triangles 6 1/2" on 2 sides off of a rectangle that is 6 1/2" x 19". These triangles are not the B triangles.
DON'T MAKE THIS QUILT without double-checking
This quilt has a wonderful design idea, EXCEPT whoever made the quilt in the magazine photo could not have written or proofread the article. It shows pieces "B"--triangles--on pp. 59-60 cut 6 1/2" by 6 1/2". If you follow these instructions, you will be cutting 32 (+ batting) triangle pieces too small before you realize that they need to be 7" by 7" (i.e., 1/2" more). The seams connecting them to pieces "C" and "Cr" are on the bias and require allowance for the seam allowance. THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN THIS MAGAZINE COST ME HOURS MORE TIME AND MORE MONEY FOR EXTRA MATERIAL. I'm angry that the mistakes here could be published in a magazine in fabric stores that promises help for quilters.
