Bettys Choice |

Instructions to make the Betty’s Choice block can be found in Bonnie Hunter's Addicted to Scraps column in the March/April '13 issue of Quiltmaker.
For a 57" x 57" quilt (as shown), you will need 25 Betty’s Choice blocks and an additional 72 units for border #2. You will also need to cut 20 1-1/2” x 9-1/2” rectangles for vertical sashes and 4 1-1/2” x 49-1/2” strips for horizontal sashes. For border #1 cut 2 1-1/2” x 49-1/2” for the side strips and 2 1-1/2” x 51-1/2” strips for the top and bottom strips. Sew 5 blocks and 4 rectangles together to make a row. Make 5 rows. Sew the rows and horizontal sashes together. Matching centers and ends, add the border #1 side strips followed by the border #1 top and bottom strips. Sew 17 units together for each border #2 side strip and sew 19 units together for each border #2 top and bottom strip. Add border #2 in the same way as border #1.
