Bernina thinks big and I like that. Bernina went big on key features in the new 830, like space under the arm, space under the needle, space in an embroidery hoop and space for lots of bobbin thread. These are just a few of the luxuries you'll find on this machine which was six years in development. Many of the machine's functions came about as a direct result of requests from home sewers, which have maximized its user-friendliness.

With a 15" extended arm and a full 12" to the right of the needle, there is plenty of room to maneuver. The 830 has twice as much space under the arm as a standard machine, and 50% more than the largest home sewing machines on the market.

If you're after space for embroidery, you'll find it here. The jumbo hoop is a whopping 10"x 16", allowing you to embroider even very large designs without rehooping. Hundreds of luscious designs are built in, a tremendous value for embroiderers. Touch-screen editing and visual reminders for everything steer you confidently ahead.

And a fabulous feature for both sewing and embroidery is the jumbo bobbin, which holds 40% more thread than a standard bobbin. If you don't need that much thread, just specify the amount of bobbin fill.

Do you like to sew fast? This machine can do it. Maximum sewing speed is 1100 stitches per minute, with 1000 stitches per minute possible during embroidery. The really good news: no vibration, no missed stitches, no problems.

Two options are available for fabric feed when you need them. The built-in dual feed system is great for specialty
fabrics, and it's a snap to engage. Or choose the optional walking foot to keep layers from shifting. Having both options means the greatest flexibility, especially nice for quilters.

The machine threads easily, and the thread delivery system is perfectly engineered for zero drag on the thread, no matter what size spool or cone you're using. The automatic needle threader is truly automatic.

Bernina has lived up the its reputation for building the best, and has executed this crown jewel with traditional Swiss precision.
